No limit today, I ordered 11, $100 Apple Gift card, got 11 Target gift cards ($15). I was able to add 5 of those to my Target account, I was getting error when I tried to add rest. No big deal, the Target GCs are saved in my email. I will give it a shot later. Thanks for all the comments, it was really helpful.
The gift cards should load automatically over time. Sometimes you have to close the Target app and reopen it for them to appear in your wallet balance. The error is usually because they actually already got loaded to your wallet so it doesn't let them load again even though the balance might not be showing up yet.
I ordered 50 cards and see the $750 bonus in my Target wallet now.
The Apple store will absolutely NOT allow you to purchase any high-ticket items in-store even though you are technically permitted to stack up to 20 gift cards (without dollar amount limit). It will always revert you to place the order online.
It's a limitation and at some point needs to be brought up to upper management at Apple because it is an extremely poor customer experience and customer service experience.
It depends on the store I guess. I just got back from the Apple store and bought a macbook pro. I brought in 20 GC's - The only trouble was they have a tender limit of 20, so you need to make sure your GC's cover the full amount, including tax. Or use 19 GC's and pay the rest with card or cash. In my case, I needed to pay $20.03 to cover the what the 20 GC's did not, but the problem came when the associate tried to use the final GC (Which would not cover the full amount due) - so I had to use a CC to pay the $120.03, instead of the $20.03 I had planned on.
I can only order 5 $100 GCs, and at the check out it shows 1 $15 Target GC, what a scam
have to do separate transactions. so only add 1 100 gc then after that trans completes make a new one and each time you should see the $15 target gc added
I ordered 3 successfully this past weekend and got my cards within 15 minutes, all via the website on desktop... tried to order a 4th today and it's been an hour and it still hasn't been delivered... does this mean it's been canceled? I'm trying to make an Apple purchase using gc immediately.
Edit: NVM it just arrived

Same here. Infuriating. Knew exactly what I wanted. Went to Apple store because it wouldn't allow me to place order for pick up. I know it's in stock.
Me at Apple Store: Stand there and someone will help you. No one helps in 10 minutes. I line up at Genius Bar. "Here to buy iPad Pro 11", 128GB, space grey, wi-fi only, no apple care and no accessories. It's a gift."
Genius: Do you need tutorial sessions?
Me: It's a gift. Why is it so hard to buy something here?
Genius: Tries to complete transaction but keeps failing. They even ask me to do an order for Sunday pick-up. Don't you want delivery?
Me: No, I am here now. Check me out.
Genius: Call customer service because they have more access than us. This is not a secure location.
Wasted time outside talking to phone rep. Kept talking in loops. Then asked them to place order for pick up on my behalf. Nope! Says, I should do delivery. I said, NO! Porch pirates and it's past the date where I want anything shipped to my house. Says Apple requires signature. Another lie, Fed Ex guy just dumps on porch. Also Apple does a poor job with stolen merchandise. You don't disable something is obviously stolen. Dead silence. Say, do you want me to place order for delivery? I said, I give up. BYE!
Got home and placed order for delivery, ETA = 11/29. I can live with that. Got the confirm and it says December 6-10. No choice because I stacked 6 GCs on my wife's iphone.
Hmmm so it wasn't because I placed an order and then cancelled it seems... It's because I'm using account balance/gift cards (tried with just account balance even but it was paid with gift cards)... Same on my Mac... originally showed delivery on Wednesday (still does if I go to order a new one) but my delivery on order shows Dec 1-5 and not even shipped yet/today...
To me this is borderline illegal and wonder if a class action could be brought forward.
FWIW contrary to some people who had said otherwise, I was able to pay for at least part of my Applecare with my GC balance... bought iPhone and Applecare and paid for almost all of it using my apple balance, the rest on CC. The apple balance was definitely more than the price of just the iPhone so it definitely used at least some of the balance on Applecare.

Same for me. Original date was 27 and now it shows Dec 1
I ordered 11 gift cards totaling $1,100 to buy the 256gb iPhone 15 pro using the red card on each transaction so $95. $5x11 = $55 savings + $15x11=$165 for a total of $220 off the $1100. I also got the $20 circle discount so $240 total off the iPhone. I'll sell my iPhone 12 Pro for about $500 so will cost me about $360 to upgrade. Just sharing my thought process if it helps others
I am really wanting to use this for my apple care purchases. Anyone know how to do this. I'm not seeing the gift card as payment method. Ugh cause I bought two and would love to use this for that the Apple care and also my monthly iCloud subscription as well.

If you choose Apple Card payments(ACMI) then it does not give the option to use gift cards. Instead, I had to select the no-carrier option and try to purchase it in full, then it shows the option to add gift cards. If you are looking to buy it via installments, After purchasing it in full, you can then contact Apple Card team via message and ask them to convert the purchase back to payments.

I loaded the GC to my apple wallet by going to App store then click the profile on top right corner then click the redeem gc button. Then i was able to use apple pay of the GC for icloud+
