Based on my cursory understanding of GE Cync. Please let me know if I got it wrong!
'Direct Connect' means the two devices can directly communicate with each other, without a hub or router (e.g Bluetooth or Ad Hoc WLAN).

👍nice [-..-] ty...
Right, roughly 6.5 ft and 3.5 ft lol
Right. Govee is a good deal
Tested with 4 different lights and had the same results unfortunately. I will be staying away from this brand from the smart connectivity perspective. The lights themselves seemed to be fine.
They all still work when your Internet is down, correct?
Probably cannot control the color without the internet, but every other smart bulb and strip still work as a light when you plug them in. I don't see a controller in the photos, and the description speaks to an app or assistant only.
Some of the worse brands of lighting I have tried sadly default to "unicorn vomit" mode by default ...instead of something basic like white. I'd be curious what the default mode on these are. Given GE's reputation, I'd expect a white default.
For $10 I'm in to try. Can't be worse connectivity than my crappy Wemo switches!

I already have govee delivered yesterday but not sure which one to choose? G E is there in market for long time
Are you saying that because you have previously compared? Or just based on what they list?
I too am curious to compare these with Hue.
Govee 100%. These are the thicker "jelly-like" strip lights. So they are heavier and the sticky take fails easily due to this. The giver's are like paper thin and stick like hell. I'm sticking with them.

I have around 50 smart devices connected to a dedicated cheap wifi5 router. Guests connect to the same router, no complaints
