These Edifier speaker models aren't featured in the Front Page deal, but I think they are the better buys.

Edifier R1280DBs [amazon.com] (with Optical / Coax IN + Subwoofer OUT) $111.99 + Free Shipping
  • The R1280DBs has a subwoofer output. I think it's shortsighted to leave out this feature for only $12 more than the R1280DB.
Edifier R1700BTs [amazon.com] (NO Optical / NO Coax + Sub OUT) $129.99 + Free Shipping
  • You get an upgraded sound for only $18 more than the R1280DBs. This may be the best value in the current Edifier speaker sale. It matches the lowest price they've been in the last 3 years.

I am not sure about their site. Last time I looked there (probably a year or more ago), I found it to be an unorganized mess with limited stock and higher prices than Amazon.

R1850DB are $170 on Amazon [amazon.com] right now for prime members. The lowest has been $162 if I remember correctly. I don't understand why vendors have better pricing on Amazon (where they pay commission) than on their own websites (where they don't).

my 2 cents: those are good speakers and you will love them for sure. i connected them to my google home so when i cast anything it uses the edifier speaker instead of the google home speaker.

the remote control is horrible and you must directly point to it.

I've compared them side by side and feel the Promedias are far superior to the R1280. With the R1700 it's more debatable. I was not a fan of the R1280.
