Just want to point that out
While that's true, you can have more than 1 of the card and each gets its own cap (and a business version on top will get you Yet Another chance for another $2500 cap though only some of the categories overlap with the personal one you can also get multiples of)

Online shopping, including cable, internet, phone plans and streaming 3% cash back
Automatic 2% cash back at grocery stores and wholesale clubs
PNC are preparing one with similar benefit of 2% but is only by invitation at this point.
Only single drawback to this card is that it is a mastercard and you can't use it in costco.

Do you mean buying gas AT grocery stores, which is the only place the Amex BCP gives 6%?
Even then unless you spend a LOT on groceries you're worse off than using the BoA card if you have the right BoA status.
The 6% card has a $95 annual fee though and caps at 6k spend a year. The BoA card has no annual fee.
$6000 spent at 6% on the Amex card only nets you $45 in extra rewards compared to the same $6000 spent at 5.25% on the BoA card.
So you're $50 behind using the Amex card over the course of a year on that 6k spend... (plus you effectively have a 10k cap instead of 6k for the year with BoA).
Now, if you spend more than $2500 per quarter you might run into issues- but that's easily solved just getting a second (also no annual fee) BoA card.
Now, without BoA status the math is totally different of course.

Bank of America Card... one category is online shopping and the other category is groceries.
BUT I also have the PayPal Card and use it when I reach my cap with BofA. I also have a Marriott card and JetBlue Card.

Just something to keep in mind if you splurge on a new Sony Alpha Full Frame camera or some high end pairs of speakers.
Sure, but unless you have a tiny tax bill you're FAR better off using your tax bill for a new credit card signup... something like 75-150k of whatever card points on 4-6k of spend or something, rather than a messily net 1.15%
omg, this, are you me??? synchrony is the devil, if they were the last creditor on earth id go dave ramsey

Why?
If you can do the spend organically it's, by far, the best way to get much higher rewards on spending you're already going to be doing.
