Moccamasters all brew the same - same internals, guts, etc. The differences are vessels (glass vs thermal) and volume. That's all. If you like glass and don't think you'll break it, get that one. If you will break it and like thermal, get this one.

Are you looking for a Metal Carafe or a Glass Pot (with hotplate)?

Another difference is the KBGV Select has a switch for brewing only half a pot vs a full pot. Helpful if you don't want to brew as much coffee.

No, that's not all. Some models also have a switch for adjusting the flow rate out of the basket to allow for correct brewing of 1/2 pot vs a full pot. The switch can also be used to shut off the flow out of the basket entirely, and can therefore also be used to properly bloom the coffee.

I didn't know that. I still make half pots without that functionality. What they really should add, which would really be a huge step up, is a pre infusion stage for blooming and a better dispersing sprayer. This design is decades old. We have more coffee knowledge now. They can update these machines, IMO.

That said, this is still the best drip brewer.
