For the burgers or sandwich deals that has a $1 spending requirement, you can soup up the burger or the sandwich with extras. For example, tomorrow I will add the cheeseburger offer, and modify the cheeseburger. My local BK charges 50 cents for extra tomatoes and 50 cents for extra lettuce. Boom! That's a cheeseburger on steroid for $1 with nothing else to buy.
They used to have the add bacon for $1 option, but they changed it so that if you add bacon, it automatically changes to the bacon cheeseburger which is not what the offer calls for. But you can do tomato, onions, lettuce, extra cheese, and pickle on top of the cheeseburger.
Original chicken sandwich (Dec 29) is easy. In addition to the toppings I just mentioned for mod, you also have cheese and bacon. So you have a lot more options to soup up the chicken sandwich for $1.
I know I can order two cookies for $1.50 and normal cheeseburger for free. I just don't like their cookies. I also don't like their nuggets so I'm not going to pay $2 for 4 pieces just to get a free cheeseburger. But if you are wondering what you should buy for $1, that's my trick.
You're welcome.
So if you get those and the free crowns on 2 other days, that's a total of ...666 free crowns. Lol.
Anyways, between this event and the two over the last months (Halloween and Football), they've given away about 1500~1700 crowns. That's a lot of free food. I've generally found cheeseburgers (or double) to be the best value at 250 crowns (400 for the double).

McDonald's tends to be more consistent across the board. Most restaurants will be acceptable service wise, but meeting low expectations isn't saying much. The sandwiches aren't as fresh as BK but the sides and sauces are way better. The McD's near my office is really busy so nothing sits around for very long during lunch hours. That helps a lot.
Anywho...the deals mostly suck. Fridays with the free minor class sandwich is pretty decent. Whopper Wednesday is nothing new and back when they did $1 per patty Whopper Wednesday will forever spoil me. If I'm doing fast food, I'd rather go McD's for overall better deals or Wendy's for overall better food quality.
How would you know if they're exaggerating? According to this MCDonald's price tracker [pantryandlarder.com] $19 is not likely at all when they show the most expensive place for a Big Mac charges $8.09 for the sandwich only. I cannot imagine over twice that to make it a meal. I realize that this site could be out of sync with reality, but without the location no way to verify that claim which I still think is BS. Unless they're leaving out details like swapping in something more expensive or adding dessert.
The "McCheapest" tracker's most expensive spot for a Big Mac is my test site and it shows the large Big Mac meal is priced at $12.19 (13.04 after tax) from my McDonald's app.
Which exact location (address) are you quoting for the combo being almost $14 after tax? Easy enough to verify with the location information from either of you. They aren't proving me wrong yet.
What I still believe is that their comment is an exaggeration, based on them having a bad time with their local McDonald's.
It's $11.50 before tax and would be almost $14 for the medium Big Mac Meal here

My App deals are awful.
I'm not sure that is correct.
My wife and I live in the same city, same address, same cell phone carrier... 😁
And her app deals are different (and better!) than mine.
However, they have a coupon on the app right now for 20% off any purchase of $5 or more. So that would make the Big Mac Combo only $6.95, but wait, they also have a coupon for buy one big mac, get one for $1. In that case, you could get 2 Big Macs for $5.79, buy a medium fry for $2.99 and a medium Dr. Pepper/Coke for $1.69, thus giving you a total of $10.47 cents! For 2 Big Mac sandwiches, a fry and drink, that a DEAL!!
Of course, I live in a reasonable state that doesn't crap all over it's citizens. Sure we have low education and teacher pay, but the cost of living is urlhasbeenblocked! You can buy 40 acres of land and build a 1800 square foot home for less than $300,000! Try that in Cali or New York or even a bunch of other states. Professional pay isn't bad here now as it used to be. Registered Nurses making $40-60 an hour. Engineers around 70-80k a year, etc. Even our low teacher pay at $38,000 a year to start(depends on district too) is bad, but with the cheap cost of living here, it's not a big struggle.
I don't understand why people don't up and move out of their state that hates them and go to greener pastures? I invite you to come to Cajun country! Our food is quite tasty, we have Mardi Gras, over 500 Festivals each summer, bayous, lakes and wildlife management areas on every corner. Come buy a boat with the money you'll save on those $19 Big Macs and enjoy the outdoors here. We have mild winters, cool people and much lower crime than L.A., New York and Chicago.
Only downside of moving here is your gonna get fat, lol. Seriously everyone I know that comes to Louisiana gains a bit of weight. Our food is just that good. Cajun and creole cooking will make you wish you'd moved here sooner. Don't even get me started on the King Cakes, the crawfish boils that every neighbor will invite you to and the fish fry's every Friday. Boudin and meat pies, mmm I'm getting hungry, lol. If you read all this, then hats off to you. I'm just rambling!

Best value at McDonalds is drive-thru only: They have a value pack with a double cheeseburger and small fry for $3. Add a $1 drink and you have lunch for $4.
Burger King always has the best deal with their $5.50 Double Cheeseburger and Fry. Add a drink on for $1.79 and they always upsize it through the app. Add a $1 burger with today's deal and that's a beltbuster lunch.

$11.50 plus tax would be just over $12.50 in NYC, it's not really "almost $14" because it's not even $13.
I know, I was responding to Paulyshore when he said these BK burgers don't come with tomatoes and onions, and I said to get those for free you have to look for whopper or whopper junior.
The math isn't even correct, see above.
I still remember 39 cent cheese burgers on Wednesdays and 1.99 Big Macs. Crazy
