Open box (excellent) for $833. Nice
300 nits is plenty bright for most people in most settings, 350 is more than adequate.

They have inventory of 66 ready to ship. Lots of returns for some reason. Specs are solid and very good for the price.

Legions get a lot more buzz and have a rep for quality... but the specs are real close for a $190 difference. There is also a Legion 5 for $870 that has similar specs except for a Zen 3 processor. https://slickdeals.net/f/17125843-lenovo-legion-5-laptop-15-6-ips-165hz-2560x1440-amd-7735hs-rtx-4060-16gb-ram-512gb-ssd-870-free-shipping?v=1&src=SiteSearch

Some pretty great 4060 deals ATM.

rep for quality? while there are horror stories with every brand, the lenovo legion reddit sub shows that lenovo truly doesn't have their shit together when it comes to their mobos and bios issues. chassis quality and cooling are both decent though

SDR content is mastered at 100 nits for dark room viewing. 350 nits seems sufficient unless you want better HDR performance or are using the laptop in direct sunlight.

It was 30 minutes from my house so I drove and bought it. Couldn't resist the price. Returned a Lenovo LOQ 15 at the same time. The screen on the Legion is better, brighter and has a higher resolution. Fan kicked on alot during benchmarks and is very loud. Hair dryer loud. The LOQ was super quiet during benchmarks. Legion is a slimmer design with a 80 tdp so that's probably why it's louder. Build quality is a slight step above the LOQ. My use case is moderate gaming, 3D modeling and design. For heavy gaming I would suggest going with a full size laptop to reduce the fan noise.

I love this laptop, but I love it probably most when it was on sale for ~900 a couple months ago. I was able to snag a open-box for 650$ at Bestbuy. I guess the stars aligned, there was only one in stock at the time in all of Colorado. But I definitely like everything about this Laptop, it runs everything I've thrown at it without problem, and I was able to throw in an additional SSD and 32GB of DDR5 RAM 4800mhz CL 32 and it runs like a dream.

The new price is not that much of a deal, but the Open Box Excellent price is where the deal is at.
