Battery life? my kid is starting college next year so was looking for a gamer/general laptop that he can use for work (and gaming..he's mainly playing COD/RPGs).
Edit: NV...battery is listed as 5 hours ...

But the laptop is voltage limited which restricts how much you can overclock it. At stock expect ~8% difference, but the gap would probably widen with OC.
But... this one says 100W TGP. If that includes boost, then there might be a small hit from the wattage limit.

First, congrats on your son going to college. It's kind of tricky with what you are asking for as gaming and battery life do not go hand in hand. Since that is your main focus though, I would recommend a ryzen based system...something like the Asus advantage edition or g14 kinda fits in to what you are looking for. They are one of the better gaming laptops with battery life...bestbuy open box is a good place to watch for it.

More likely it performs somewhere between a desktop 3060 and a desktop 3060Ti.
Heads up that the only Windows Hello option is a poorly placed fingerprint sensor.
And no adaptive or g sync.

Generally... avoid any HX processor from either CPU brand.
