iPad? lmfao that's a joke, not even comparable in both compatibility and productivity to a proper laptop. Two different products completely and it costs much more (looking at $1900 for a comparable spec w/ no apple pencil and just for current LCD model)

Buying directly from Lenovo was a horrible experience. Got a defective laptop and support was super annoying to deal with. Ending up having to return the laptop for a refund as they don't have the same laptop for replacement. Wasted my precious time on hunting deals to end up with nothing. you'd be better off buying from a good seller like Best buy or Amazon

slim 5 14 is reviewed highly compared to g14: OLED screen, WQXGA+ screen resolution (2880x1800), better heat management, port placement (personal preference), overall design (not as gamer-ish). Went to Best Buy the other day saw g14, I do appreciate its smaller footprint, not a fan of it being white, seems will have problem keeping it in pristine condition down the road; saw the 16 inch version of slim 5 but not the 14 inch, overall I liked Lenovo's design better

Yes I ordered direct showing end of December as tentative delivery btw 22-30th. Total came under 1400 on blk Friday, so this looks like a better deal.
Also, unlike apple asshats, lenovo is reasonable when we upgrade to 32gb from 16gb or to 1tb from 512gb charging 50$ for each upgrade. Since it is soldered ram for 14 incher, i would say 32 gb ram is a must have for future proofing otherwise this deal is pretty slick.

Take this for what it's worth, but I'm still using an alienware 13r3 with an OLED that's from Q4 2016 and I have zero burn in whatsoever anywhere. The screen is absolutely gorgeous and it's one of the reasons I haven't replaced it yet. The GTX 1060 / 6700hq are starting to show their age though.

I have an older g14 and this. I like the Lenovo better. Build is better. Heat management seems better. The oled screen is beautiful. Performance is great. Ordered with 32gig via Lenovo and had it in a week.

I've used OLED laptop screens for years and I'm a heavy gamer on my 4 year old 77" LG C9 with 13500 hours of run time, zero burn in. I put a simple screensaver on my PC in case I get sidetracked and leave things running, but other than that I've taken no special precautions. No burn in on anything yet. I have seen burn in on older OLED TVs and a newer store model 65" B2, but I feel like you really have to be negligent or have a problem panel to be affected.

I tested this for a few days. Here's my opinion:

Pros

Metal construction.
Fan turns on occasionally.
Display opens to 180 degrees.
OLED brightness and colors are good.
Reasonably priced upgrades (32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD).

Cons (why I returned it)

Glare in daylight situations.
The 120 Hz is barely noticeable.
14.5" is a tad small for productivity.

Conclusion

Wait for an anti-reflective OLED 120 Hz (preferably 4K, 500+ nits) Thinkpad or iPad in 2024.

Ordered a similar configuration from the Lenovo deal a couple of weeks back on Nov 23rd. My laptop still hasn't shipped and delivery got pushed yo an ETA of Dec 20th.
