Hmmm trying to see if I should pull the trigger. How is this deal compared to the various EPP deals that come up? I have an older Samsung ks8000 65" and an old soundbar but they work fine so trying to decide if I should hold out or jump on it.
I have seen in several sites that the expectations are for the OLED market to go down in prices. One of the reasons is the big Hisense and TLC LED TVs which were a big hit this Black Friday, stealing sales from OLED and LED Sony, LG, and Samsung TVs.

The other reason is LG is losing money on their OLED branch to the point that they got a new executive to try to spin the OLED branch. It is expected that cuts will be done to the R&D and investment will be put to improve the utilization of their OLED factories and yield production. Hopefully this will translate in cheaper prices.

There are some improvements in production that might help reduce prices. This is all expectations, but if you have the time to wait and see what happens I would say wait. The MLA, QD, and XR Clear technologies this year in my opinion do show a significant improvement to the previous generations. While different between OLED and LED, the commonalities shared between these technologies will help spreadout the R&D burden between LED and OLED TVs, which should also help reduce prices for OLEDs.

Mini LED technology l will also help close the gap between OLEDs and LEDs (OLED still being better), but should put some pressure on the OLED prices.

My guess is that OLED will start competing with affordable prices at the 65in and 77in and push the crazy insane prices to 83in and above TVs and the 8K TVs.

Sure, if you have that kind of deal go for it.

I don't care for free install because I can do that with a neighbor.
I never assumed or asked if you cared about free installation. YOU asked me why I would go for S90c and I gave you my reasons.

Weird response, dude!

We picked up one yesterday, and it's amazing. Thank you for all of the information in this thread that helped make the decision.

Question though, I went ahead and got the 5 year geek squad protection. I just can't shake the fact that I spent nearly 25% of the cost of the TV on it. I have 30 days to cancel, what are we thinking about the longevity of these? I really doubt burn in will be an issue for us.

This is QD-OLED in NA, contrary to naysayers, and is basically identical to the S90C. Got one myself last week. Wondering if I contact Best Buy if they'll give me the soundbar retroactively as well.
I got the sound bar. It is so bad, I considered returning it even though it's free.

And who made Digital Trends the definitive source for all things Samsung OLED?

With all of the confusion on this thread especially over NA vs Europe versions of this TV, I don't see any "proof" or info in that video that tells me for sure this panel is not QD-OLED. Just beause they say it's not doesn't mean it's not. It's not like he said he reached out to Samsung for clarification or they have a unit and tested it out looking at the pixel pattern (or however way you can truly tell between a WRLGB-OLED and QD-OLED).

That video proves nothing. It's no more than anyone on here saying one way or another.

Not sure how to respond to you….not sure where you started thinking they were the definitive source. However, I assure you that my post is accurate in what Digital Trends stated.

Again, who asserted this was proof? ( you brought the concept of proof up…)
