Used it a couple of times on the beach, definitely a no-go.

Just a heads up I have one of these and the tires are horrible. They seem thick but are actually hollow, the back tire on mine separated from the rim due to wear in less than 2 months which makes it pretty much useless

My wife and I use it for the beaches in South Florida, but it's a pain in the arse to pull in the sand. Do love the tailgate that opens for larger items.

I have a radio flyer collapsible wagon somewhat like this for my children, and it has a handle to pull on one side and it has a bar to push on the other. And let me tell you that pushing the bar is so much easier than pulling the handle on that. Thing is this only offers a handle to pull I would not suggest it.
The handle locks into an upright position and then can be used to push too. Double duty.

I bought a different one on Amazon for 109 bucks each. Both broke immediately. Well beyond the return so I have 2 broken wagon. Going to buy this since it's cheaper. It's good for me to transport equipment in the city as sometime I work blocks from jobsite. And no, I didn't over stuff it.

I have this unit.....it's useful but fyi.... if you have any chance at all of taking this to the beach or any sandy areas, save your money and buy a wagon with the big fat wheels on it. This is fine on hard ground but it's a boat anchor in sand. So now we have two of these fold up wagons, this one and one with fat wheels on it. I should have just gotten the one with fat wheels on it to begin with.

Do you have a link for the fat wheels model?

It was a while back and sold out now, but here is a link for the one we bought. https://tools.woot.com/offers/bli...ible-wagon The fat wheels don't sink as deep in sand still a slog, but not a boat anchor.

If the wheels are so bad can they be replaced?

Looks decent enough, my kids are getting to be old enough that I don't think I need something like this any longer but I'm still tempted. I'll save my money for better shoes for everyone then we'll use our feet!

I don't know about yours but with some weigh on the wagon, my handle will come loose even after locked on. Doesn't matter pull or push, the handle will not stay locked on. It's a cheap plastic locking mechanism.

Based on the looks of the wheels, this is a no go for the beach?

Correct. Inappropriate for the beach. I still take it to Atlantic City when I'm not going to the beach just to cart stuff from my car to the room though.

Narrow tires are sometimes OK for the lawn as well, but you are still better off with wider tires there as well.

Yes, not meant to pull with it locked on. But push? No problems there, it is being pushed into the lock, so it works fine for that.

I was thinking about putting this on a sled or some other kind of light solid flat-bottom thing with a handle or rope in order to surf the wagon over sand. Do you think that might be feasible?

I'd like to know this as well.

Nope. The only thing that works particularly good in the sand are the type that have huge wheels.

Hmm... I've never tried it so I can't really say for sure. But having thought about it if I had to answer one way or another, I tend to side towards not working well.

Got one of these without the tailgate in 2019 to haul groceries to our 6th floor apt from the parking garage, it has been a life saver. It's always seemed flimsy, but still is holding strong. While the tires aren't ideal for the beach, it beats carrying everything by hand (in my opinion). The tires on this just sort of dig into the sand while you pull the wagon. I would personally rather drag everything from the car in one trip with this wagon than take 2 or 3 trips carrying everything by hand.
