They may be better quality but they are not high end by any means. They are Def Tech's entry level tower.
Lol. Def tech doesn't make "entry level" tower speakers. Maybe you meant "least expensive towers". Would you be happy with Wilson Audio's "entry level towers"? 🤣🤣🤣
But don't tell me…tell Daniel Kumin of Sound&Vision who said…"The Definitive towers, then, matched my two long-term reference monitors closely, and the more modern one, an excellent powered three-way standmount monitor, almost indistinguishably."
Or James Larson at Audioholics who said…"I would have figured that speakers with smooth aluminum front baffle and base with a gloss finish combined with a seriously good sound would cost more than the $3,400 MSRP for the D15s. The speakers that I have heard at audio trade shows that looked and sounded this good were far more expensive than these. How is it that Definitive Technology is able to pull off high-end looks and a high-end sound without a high-end price tag?"
Wait. Did he say "high end" sound? Surely not!
😂😂😂

Wilson Audio is not even close to being in the same league. Definitive Is not high end. Period.
But this is way off topic. I invite you to join Audiokarma and discuss it further there, but I won't be responding on this subject any more in this thread.

That's not even the point. Wilson has "entry level" towers? Are they high end? If so, why can't the least expensive Def Tech's towers be high end? Def tech isn't "allowed" to make high end speakers?
I've got it…just explain what makes a high end speaker then give us your personal review of the D15 speakers and explain how they aren't high end. Simple.

I currently have a 5.1.2 Vizio soundbar setup …will upgrading to this speaker system and a Onkyo TX SR604 receiver make a difference to sounding ? I'm not an audiophile just want to have good experience watching movies/tv shows with 75X90k

The overall sound quality will be far superior, but you won't be able to get Atmos effects with that system (that receiver is from the mid 2000s, way before Atmos).
I ordered the same combo of this home theater and Onkyo TX-NR6050 receiver. This is my first home theater system. Could someone pls suggest what wires and any other remaining stuff i need to buy to set it up ?
Can you help me find the Onkyo TX-NR6050 deal? I was waiting for a wiim amp, but this seems like a better deal.

Atmos is often overrated. Take Top Gun Maverick. I have a full 5.4.2 atmos system based around a Denon x3600. I unplugged all but the 4 atmos speakers and played a bunch of action scenes, including the intro scene. You do get some sound in those scenes, buts it very low and inconsequential I was surprised to find easily the most prominent sound was Mav's voice that was supposed to be coming in over the radio inside the control room when he's flying that top secret jet. I imagine in a non atmos surround setup, his voice would come out of the surrounds and fronts a little bit to give you that overhead sensation.
Anyway, point being, I'm an atmos fan and have spent a lot of time and effort installing overheard speakers, but if I was in your position, I'd move on from that soundbar to real speakers and subs even if I didn't have atmos right now. It could be this system if it was all I could afford. Just don't waste money getting "good enough" and wind up spending more in a couple years. These aren't aren't the best quality. Jamo/klipsch aren't stupid. They are not losing money in these. This is what they're worth. And you get that you pay for….
TL: DR…these are better than your soundbar but they are entry level speakers.

I cant get the klipsch deal as of now so im thinking of getting it 1 or 2 years later....with that in mind do u think it would be fair to spend 450 now or shall i get the monoprice premium speakers for 130$ ...would that give a better audio than the soundbar? until i upgrade to a better receiver and speakers...I have never setup or listened to receiver 5.1 setup so I'm gonna go suggestions provided by ppl who have experienced it

It's hard to recommend this Jamo system with that wimpy sub. There was a deal for 4 Jamo bookshelves and a center for cheap last year for like $150-$200 at woot and Amazon. You don't need towers but if they're not much more than bookshelves, they keep you from having to buy stands.
