A7cii with 3rd party lenses or Nikon Z6II with Nikon lenses and save about $250 vs Sony option.
Going to use it for portraits, kids playing, low light backyard parties. Want to invest once and keep it for long atleast 8-10years.
Sony auto focus was the best, and the a7m4 was the best. More better camera came out, but the differences are slight. Sony currently has more lenses for mirror less without a need for adapters. Sigma lenses are sometimes even sharper than Sony ones. For kids, you want quick focus. For regular or vacation use, you want versatility, ultra zoom. I think there is a good 28-200mm. Smaller cameras get hot faster during recording. It might not happen to you, but that is how the heat test goes.
I take pictures of my niece and sometimes in the door and I don't like flash. So I got an a9 with that lens. Faster shutter, because kids run around and indoor led pulses.
For portrait, you usually want more megapixels... a7c2 win. For low light, you want more sensitivity, a7c2 win. for portraits, you want 50 mm and above. for low light, you want wider aperture, f2.4 or wider.
If you are already in the nikon lenses system, you might want to look at the z8 or z9.
Or wait for the 'best' a9m3 in a few months with a global shutter.
I am a machine gun shooter, so a9 with 6k pictures a day. A7s2 for night photo. A7r2 for landscape.
A1 would replace all those cameras.

But in short...
- The full frame lens will take the exact same photo as a crop sensor lens insofar as the focal length, aperture, lighting, etc. are all the same.
- On the flip side, however, you may be able use a crop sensor lens on a full frame camera but only if the full frame cameras support cropped mode which most Sony full frame cameras support. APS-C lenses are designed to be smaller to let in just enough light to cover a crop (APS-C) sensor and produce an image so won't cover the bigger full frame sensor. For full frame cameras that support cropped mode, they often simply crop the image to reduce the resolution of the photo to fit the exposed parts of the sensor.
And A6000 and A6700 are both E-mount APS-C camera body so use the same lens.

Full-frame is often seen as the "gold standard" for many photographers, with APS-C often thought of being the preserve of enthusiasts and those with a lower budget. While that's not strictly fair or accurate these days, there are many advantages of using a camera with a larger sensor.
If the best image quality is your main concern, then generally speaking, full-frame will help you achieve that in a wider variety of settings. Low light performance is generally better, as is the dynamic range for the most part.
....
....
It's easier to achieve a shallow depth of field when using a full-frame sensor. It's because you use longer focal lengths to achieve the same angles of view, and longer focal lengths produce a shallower depth of field. Although you can achieve the same look when using crop sensors, you might need to get too close to the subject for the same kind of background blur. It's generally why portrait photographers, for example, prefer to use full-frame.
When it comes to image quality, it's a general rule of thumb that a bigger sensor equals better performance, with less noise in low light and sometimes better dynamic range – but there are plenty of advantages to APS-C, usually depending on what exactly it is you want from your camera.
One of the big advantages is that APS-C systems are normally smaller and lighter than full-frame equivalents. With often smaller bodies and definitely smaller optics, it's a good choice if you don't want to carry heavy gear, such as while travelling or for hiking long distances.
.....
On that note, the crop factor also means that your longer lenses don't need to be as long, heavy, or expensive as full-frame equivalents to get you closer to the action.

I know nothing about lenses… what's a good lens for this type of setup? Would be used essentially the same as a webcam on my desk.
