Death Stranding was one of them. They mistakenly let the Director's Cut out for free for the first lucky few who claimed right away, most likely a mistake on Epic's part. After that, it was the base standard edition for everyone else.
Epic Games gives one or two free games every week throughout the year. This is a special daily freebie that is expected to start on Dec 13. Go to the link in the post (or the Epic Games home page), log into your account, and you'll see the free games in the section that currently shows GigaBash & Predecessor with a mystery game showing for Dec 13. That's where the limited-time free games show up. There are other games that are always free-to-play on that page as well, but look for the ones that are temporarily free. Make sure to claim the games while they're free, and they'll be added to your game library to keep.
No idea as I'm not interested in horror games yet.
I feel with a 33% off sale, it's a nice chunk of savings, and $10 for more content you may enjoy isn't too bad. But you may want to do some more research on it before buying. Think you have until Jan 9th to make a decision?
I loved Control. I understand Alan Wake is a very different style of game, but I did end up buying the DLC for Control, so might as well get this now for only $10 more. 👍
The game is incredibly fun, especially the Witch Queen campaign. Destiny has its problems, but the negative sentiment is not from some of the content here. I'd highly recommend it.
I heard D2 is not very beginner friendly (not beginner to shooters but to the franchise). Is that so? I would be playing solo, friends already beat the campaign long ago. I don't know what to expect
LOL. People running windows 7 or 8 should have their entire computer locked out. Unless you're playing games on computers running legacy apps for ICS / SCADA systems you've got no reason to be on those OS. And if it's a money thing, then they've got other problems and shouldn't be buying games.

I guess understanding the story characters and their backgrounds is confusing, but getting the general idea there is a major villian and you need to kill them is pretty much the generalized plot for all the campaigns. I enjoyed playing all the campaigns solo and most of the harder levels auto parties you with random people.
Currently replaying D1 on Series X again and love it, again!
Hear D2 removed so much single player content and story, it is not worth bothering with, true?
I'd say untrue. They recently added small, playable snippets of the campaigns they vaulted (like Forsaken), but there is still quite a bit of content just from the campaigns in the Legacy Collection. I think a bigger problem now is they actually tell a lot of the story in the seasons. In the past, you got massive chunks of lore from the DLC and then the seasons were fairly light. Now you're getting giant chunks of story in the seasons as well. We just finished Season of the Witch and I think most D2 players would agree that the story we got through that season was far better than the story we got with Lightfall (the last major DLC).
They've been uploading the cutscenes form the previous seasons to youtube recently in an effort to keep folks current, but it isn't quite the same as playing it live.
I do think it's worth playing the Legacy Collection though, because there's some good content in there. D2's onboarding process is still pretty bad, but they finally have an in-game LFG (technically in beta), which should help a ton.

I remember Bloons TD6 being one that I didn't scoop up, and later bought on Steam, and then later later Epic had it for free again haha
