This is a good deal and if you like it I would for sure buy it, but if you would like to try another way which might be easier I'd try this multi file which is way easier. This is the way. Having sharpened plenty of saws freehand, I figured the multi-file would be only marginally better and mostly a gimmick. It's not. It's awesome. I cut up a massive, 75 foot fallen ash with my 16" Husqvarna in about 45 minutes, and only needed to stop and sharpen twice. Takes me about 5 minutes to sharpen. I think the multi file is the way to go.

Agreed, I bought the genuine stihl brand version of this same thing and it really makes sharpening chains foolproof and fast.

Project farm covered the grinder and the Stihl you linked. Both do well, but for simplicity sake and after reading the PF comments, Stihl seems the popular choice.

Sharpening with a file is the way to go. This may be useful if you really damage your chain, but it's not better than a file.
I run my file 2-3 passes on each tooth every tank of gas on my chainsaw. When you don't let the chain get dull, it's easy to follow the contour and saves you sawing time too. Watch some YouTube videos and try it out. It's not too hard to get it sharp, it just takes practice.
The Stihl or Pferd (they make them for Stihl) are the way to go. Or if you are really lazy, the Oregon self sharpening chain it pretty decent too. These old school sharpeners are a great way to spend an evening away from family if that's what you are after.

I mean, it's a hassle to look up the right chain for my saw, but I don't use it enough to warrant a sharpener.

The dremel sharpener attachment is only $13.66 at Walmart. That's less expensive than this

Your link appears to be the cheapest Stihl version available. There are knock offs in that range, but the Stihl version tends to be more costly.
