EDIT: I'm wrong, it showed the normal price on my PC briefly but it appears to be back on sale again.
Debating grabbing it to replace my 8 year old laptop with an i-3 5020u.
Looks like this can be upgraded to 16 gigs of ram per the Q&A on the Staples site.

Some people complain the silver keyboard on a silver machine and it may be hard to type.
Good point on that. In the past, most HP laptops have black keyboard on silver machine.
Not sure if that would affect the typing experience.

1215U is a 6-core part with 2 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. The fact it's a 12th gen part with performance cores means it actually outperforms my 2019 MacBook Pro in most workloads. This is exactly the type of CPU you want in a cheap machine for basic web browsing and productivity in 2023.
The integrated graphics are good enough for low end gaming or old games (many games playable at 720p, although I wouldn't recommend it for this purpose).
1080p FHD screen is good for this price point.
Unfortunately it's out of stock (as of right now) with estimated shipping January.

What do you think about the screen? IPS or TN?
I know not all TN are bad and some are better than others. I'm curious about viewing angles and if the color is washed out.
