Why do people say it's not a deal, random guess some lower value but don't bother to post a link to such a "deal"? If this name-brand prebuilt PC should be under $800 then LINK IT to an exact spec unit that is name-brand prebuilt in stock for delivery for under $800!

4.7 (out of 5.0) average review with 77 reviews on Best Buy doesn't sound horrible.

Worse, it's the 8GB 4060Ti. Really, that should knock it down to under $800

I had never bought a pre-built PC until my last two. Yeah used to be fun, etc. but got older and tired of it. Just want something out of the box to work. I maxed out a R16 and threw a 3 year warranty on it. I don't plan on ever taking off the case panel.
That's exactly where I am at as well. With work and family there just isn't time or that. I just want it to work for the 37 minutes a day I can sit down and play something.

I think it's snark.. 800w+ power supplies are pretty common and the cost delta to Dell isn't much
Their higher wattage PSU's are platinum. Several hundred ($200-$300+). No idea what Dell's cost is. There have been several Dell deals where I would have bit without hesitation if it had their 750W-1000W PSU (prebuilt, non-configurable). Wouldn't surprise me if we see a a class action lawsuit over PSU's. Maybe they are worth the 2-3x price tag over a bronze, but I'm ignorant to the manufacturing process.

I have had great support from Dell. The key is to know what you are talking about.
Exactly. I have an Alienware Alpha R1 and it had the yellow blinking light. Went onto the forums to see what the issue was and found out quick (CMOS battery). Just commenting on that forum post, CS reached out to me and set me up to return and repair. Honestly would have preferred them send the part, but hey, if they want to waste an extra $40+ on shipping, processing and repair, fine.

It's the video card that pushes the system to over $1k. The system technically has no shortcomings.
Sure it does. 16GB ram and 1TB SSD are both on the low side. A 1TB SSD might be enough for many people, but I'd fill it up in no time. Plus, a 500W PSU can make it tough to upgrade the GPU in the future. Especially if it is one of Dell's proprietary design ones. Price isn't that great either.

The video card does the opposite, this card in no way pushes the price over $1k. The 4060 Ti is a terrible card with huge downsides.

Having recently upgraded my R16 with a 4090FE, I would definitely recommend skipping this and instead getting a build with the 1000W PSU so that you can upgrade the graphics card down the road whenever needed.
...
....
Most people will never need anything like that 4090 and 1000W PSU. That being said, a ~600W or so PSU that could handle a slightly beefier GPU wouldn't be a bad idea. For upgrading to a 5070 Ti in the future... or something like that.

That's because there's no such deal usually or they happen once in a blue moon. The people quoting for a lower price are stuck in the past pre covid/pre mining craze days and they're hopelessly banking on a chance that prices will fall that low again. Just consider those comments as boomers just talkin nonsense like they usually do.

The link I posted gets it down to $1949 - 10% or $1754 ($1634 with Amex) for a 4070ti.

Or $2115/$2000 with Amex for the 4080.

I take offense at the boomer dig -- I'm a no-nonsense kind of guy (I think). laugh out loud

I figure comments like "should be $800" is some teen kid who skipped class today and is sitting in his bedroom, door closed, trolling for trouble who doesn't know the difference between $800 and $80 since he doesn't work and mommy and daddy pay for everything.

Compared to what? Where's your deal for a better system for the same price or an equivalent system at a lower price? Waiting...

Bought this setup a couple of weeks ago when the retail was 1299. I combined the 10% coupon along with 2x Amex offers and 15% cashback. Thinking of requesting a price adjustment from Dell but worried how that might affect the Amex offer and the cashback. I split payments so any kind of refund back to a card would bring me below the $599. Anyone else in a similar position?
I purchased with all the cash back offers as well. Tried getting the price match guarantee. With dell. They said because it is a "limited time offer" they can't price match. That was my experience at least.

Price is too high but that's a slick looking case.
