More like shitty info.

Not the camera. Cam hardware is actually quite competitive.
It's the One+ cam software which can be improved by side loading 3rd party fork = GCam.

Guys, for God's sakes, buy a damn camera. There's your phones, they are not cameras. The camera on a phone is just for quick convenience, you should not be using it for actual photography.

Literally no different than people who try to use a tablet or a phone to do actual real work versus using a real computer. Lmao
In theory that's a great idea. In practice...not so much. I have a great DSLR but I don't carry it around with me all the time for family photos. Yes, when I want a special shot I use it, but I prefer when my phone photos don't look like a blurry mess.

I would stay away from One plus and stick with either Apple or Samsung for the trade in values.

nice phone, just no SD card slot. Please pack 512gb in it if you don't offer SD card slot.

Yes, I would avoid it. I would go with the 10T or 11 if I want a Oneplus again (I use a 7T now). Also, I would avoid any t-mobile unlocked phones b/c various bloatware and restrictions installed in them. And it's not easy to remove them.
I just ordered a Motorola Thinkphone and will take delivery soon. I have very high hopes for it after doing my research. It is also using a 8+ Gen 1.
I replaced my 7T with Nothing Phone(2) which is also using 8+ generation 1. Excellent performance and no overheating whatsoever. You won't be disappointed. 7T served me well for over 3 years and I would have gotten 11 if not for the curved screen. I opted for something different instead and I'm super happy with Nothing.

OnePlus phones through TMobile tend to be cheaper, but firmware updates seem to get delayed by TMobile.

It's open box because they need to unlock it. If it's sealed then you have to go through all that TMobile BS to get it unlock, you have to go through hell trying to get tmo to do it and I'm one of those sucker.

I am surprised One Plus managed to fall off the list of main competitors in the cellphone game, they started off so strong...

Iphone, Samsung and Pixel, I guess.. no 3rd "reliable" player in market?

I wouldn't put Google Pixels above OnePlus because the Pixel camera is it's only standout feature. Other than that, the phone itself just feels weirdly cheap and daily performance isn't as snappy and fluid as you would expected.

shitty camera?
Not sure why a genuine question gets so many thumbs down...? 😔

Maybe they ignored the punctuation? Maybe if it was a complete sentence? Genuine questions should always be encouraged, IMO, no matter if they're against something you're championing or adore. Facts & good products/arguments can withstand scrutiny. This question wasn't even disparaging, & shouldn't rise to the level where people feel they need to defend the product, i wouldn't think. 🤷🏼 ♂️

I disagree. The level of bloat (forced uninstallable apps that most don't want) is absolute minimum on Pixel, & the AI features are pretty nice, if one cares about that type of thing (and live translate feature). I'm not saying those things should place it above One Plus, as I've never used that brand, but I'm responding to the fact that it's the only standout feature. None of my pixel devices have felt cheaply made, but I've only personally experienced Samsung, Motorola, LG, and Apple devices, recently (i was a huge fan of windows phone, too, so maybe i just have bad taste, lol).

I purchased the 10T during the Woot! deal for $335 because it was factory unlocked and brand new without T-Mobile branding, in fact it's a different model # altogether. Running like a champ and could care less about IP rating but DO care about a better processor for resale value.
