So I have this monitor. And I'm on the computer for a long time daily. Gaming and whatever.
A few things,
I have noticed:
The menu can lag at time
It says some features are not available when trying to select them. With no option or explanation of why that is.
I do notice the pixel shift.
It says it will do a panel refresh on next time I turn it on and off, I haven't seen it yet.
On few occasions the screen turns black for a sec or two and at one point stayed black for at least 5. It sucks when gaming. Idk why but I'm assuming it's to prevent burn in when gaming.
Setup process is long as hell. Needed internet to get it up and running.
Don't buy a monitor like this. I have the 49" and ultrawide gaming is a pain because of the unusual aspect ratio. Better to get a TV with a high response and refresh rate. I wish I could return mine and get a TV instead.
Not understanding SD lately with so many ridiculous up votes. This is NO deal. It's a regular sale that can be had with patience..miss this one, wait and it'll be this price again.
Different G9 models. Oled model was never that low on price
Here it was, $804 and chat was giving further discounts!
Read the comments, it was a loophole that's no longer working. If you select the chat option they maybe able to give you another $100 off but it's hit or miss.

I bought the deal.. it was NOT hit or miss. $800 was the maximum paid that day. Regardless, at $1099 it's just the normal sale price we will see again every month or so

Gotta know what you're buying before you can even give advice like this lol. Pair an ultrawide monitor with screen optimization software like Displayfusion to truly unleash the benefits of an ultrawide and curtail complains such as unusual aspect ratios.
I have two monitor setup now, one 34" ultrawide with mac and other regular 20" mounted portrait with mini PC. i keep the 20" monitor always on, and setup few things using chrome plugin to do slide show. I use the 34" around an hour a day and it set to sleep on idle.
Can the similar setup be done with this one monitor? can only some portion on the right is always on and left portion sleep (save power of course)

Yes. Oled turns off individual pixels not in use. And segmenting the screen is easy.

I'm using a 1080.
Gotta run now but reply if you got questions.
Why was setup process long for you? I just skipped all the smart stuff as im using it only as a monitor. Was ready to use quickly.
I'm waiting until other brands make monitors using this panel. Asus' appears to have a KVM and some cooling improvements, and I'm curious if Alienware will release a 49" OLED as well (better warranty than Samsung). Plus smart features = spyware and bloat, no thanks.

Asus has the SWIFT OLED PG34WCDM coming out in a couple months and that uses an LG OLED, which IMHO is much more reliable than anything from Samsung.
That's what I'm personally waiting for.

I can't say it's any better than my 3423DW which is the first gen QD-OLED

Not even worth it for $500.
