You can get this for $1749 elsewhere from a certain "foot" site, no tax, free shipping. I got this recently and thought I'd have buyers remorse since I'm usually a C series guy. Since I got a 65in G3 for my personal space, I was okay with getting this for the living room and I gotta say I'm blown away! The brightness is fine even with fully open patio sliding doors and the picture is fantastic out of the box and even better once tuned right.

Have noticed the same thing. I have a Samsung QN90A 75" that I got for 1.4K that I've been looking for a OLED replacement for and finding anything bigger and better for less than 2k has been a challenge.

2 different techs. If you watch tv in a bright room full of sunlight LED LCD is a good idea. Besides that OLED will be superior for off angle viewing and black levels. LED LCD also won't have burn in so if you have lots of static images you won't have to worry. With OLED you have to be careful not to have static images on the screen for a long time.

I personally love OLED. I think it is plenty bright even in a bright room and I am careful with static images even though I will use it as a home theater PC (so static images are common).

I have an old B8 that has been great and just ordered the 77" B3 (they wrapped around numbers so B8 is 5 generations ago).

Sony has OLEDs so if you want Sony processing (which is better on the OLED for movies/tv but the LG tends to be better for games) you should probably wait for deals on the Sony OLEDS. IIRC they are the same panels as the LGs and go for a premium over the LGs.

How so? This is basically last yrs C2. LG has been making OLEDS for 10yrs. Samsung has been at it for only a few. Talking to the guys at Best Buy, they say they have more returns on the S89c.

I have a 65" 2017 OLED C7P that still works great. We just bought our house and want to mount a TV. Is this worth the upgrade from an image quality stand point?

if you want to skip the protection, then it's a good deal. But if you plan to add the 2 year protection from assurion, it',s 1799. Costco is a better deal here.

Best Buy in my area has several 75x90L open box starting at 1176. if you find a good one the savings could be a big factor.

we do a lot of streaming so video processing is important. that, and a good open box price, kept me with this sony model.

Can't the streaming be processed by a fire or Roku external box? Does that take the tv processing out of play?

providing the tv with the most data like from a blu ray player is always the best. but the TV will always be responsible for some video processing especially with streaming, even with the best streaming devices. and Sony is regarded as the best at processing.

but everyone's eyes are different. everyone's use case is different. budgets are different. viewing environments. for my mom, for instance, a $500 75 inch tv will be amazing for her. these details we discuss make no difference for her and paying more money for her would be a waste.

The main differences are going to be 120Hz (good for games not a big deal for tv/movies), 2.1 HDMI with eArc, and slightly better processing. From rtings.com you will actually lose a little brightness.

I don't think you will see much of a difference in regular tv/movie watching (well, besides the added 12").

I kind of want to recommend avoiding this TV until LG gets their firmware worked out. I've been dealing with LG support for a few months now, and even replacing the main board didn't fix the issues with hdcp handshake I am having, especially with Dolby vision. I'm almost all out of options and wish I had bought from Costco with the good return policy at least. And I will add that all the same equipment, cables, and content play fine on my C1 oled 48", so definitely something wrong with this iteration.
