i dont know why they made this thing so bulky and useless


all people wanted was their tablet, larger, as flat as it is today and with some simple customizable front end for displaying stuff

they dropped the ball on this so hard

You can install youtube tv and some streaming apps to make this into a small TV! Also it was $150 all last month at Bestbuy.

Yeah, between that and a family calendar, that's why my wife has been dropping hints that we need this.

There's a 20% trade-in credit available as well, but it hasn't been instant for me since I utilized it a couple years ago.

It has Fire TV built in, Also I don't think it was $150.00 (although I could be wrong) as I've been watching this for awhile and the lowest i've see it was $184.00, I did bite at $184.00 last month though with a trade in I think it was like $13x.xx. It's just ok, I have it on my wall in the kitchen. I goes on sale often for the $184.00 price. I really wanted a UI I could use like the phone app (not on this device) have to wait for the echo hub to be released.

I really wish Google would have a hub this size and around this price. If it's mostly a glorified picture frame with some smart capabilities - may as well embrace it.

You have to use the remote for any of the streaming sites. That is, you cannot select content with Alexa. The mic is not nearly as sensitive as the Sonos Alexa products. I have this in the kitchen and when I'm standing right in front of it and use Alexa, the Sonos devices further away frequently answer. Also, you need a recessed gang box to wall mount it without the cord showing. Other than that, it's a reasonably good product for 20% off with trade in coupon for less than $150-160. Not sure it is a great buy at more than that.

I paid $125 after tax (8.75%) with my 1st gen Echo Show 8 trade in when it was listed for $184. I use it mostly as a photo frame, but I can watch my Tapo and Blink cameras live feed on it. You can do that on the Echo show 8 also, but I wanted a bigger screen.

After reading reviews, it looks pretty useless for any practical use.
I need a few apps, including YouTube, FM radio, and others; maybe I will wait for the Google Pixel Tablet to go down.
