How do you all find buyers for these (assuming you don't keep them yourselves)? Do you just walk into a gold shop and ask if they want to buy? I went to the Diamond District in NYC to ask around but everybody was offering prices way lower than what it costs to buy from Costco. Are they intentionally low-balling me and I'm supposed to negotiate? Or is it just how selling gold is?
Gold always has a different rate depending on whether you're buying or selling, I think

Generally speaking Costco's "per member" limits reset 24 hrs after purchase. But then there are people that will anecdotally report that they can only buy 2 of a certain item per membership (e.g. further orders are cancelled).

Try bullion exchange. They offered spot-$10 a few weeks back when spot jumped over $2,000.

Thanks in for 2. This should help push me over the edge of a $6k minimum spend requirement for a Capital One biz card in exchange for $750 cash back plus $40 in Costco rewards.

I hope we keep up the gold bonanza as I'm crushing these MSR in about a month at a time and then banking the cash into 5 percent yield money market funds till the credit card companies want their money.

Selling is a bit of a challenge but I did find somewhere that buys at $30 under spot in case private buyers in my area don't come through.

LCS = "Local Coin Shop" or some pawns. Gold is like anything else, buy low sell high. Spot is just a rough guide frankly. That said it's just like forex, different prices if you're buying or selling currency, so they can scrape their profit either way.

I've said this in other threads, yes you can make some money, but realistically you're maybe getting around 4% unless the market price varies a lot, in which case you could either make a few % more, or lose your 4% and then some, in which case you could just hold until the price goes back up, but you have to float that money in the meanwhile.

What are folks doing with these? Where are these sold when they appreciate in value?
Many people in non-tax states buy these with hopes to more or less break even on price. They are typically doing this to meet spending requirements for credit card sign-up bonuses OR to create spend on cashback credit cards like the 2% back Citi Double Cash card, plus most have Costco Executive Level memberships which is an additional 2% back. So with 4% back what originally costs $2030 becomes under $1950 out of pocket. Many sell to online buyers like US Gold Bureau, others sell to local coin shops.
