Mazda is having a hard time moving inventory. I bought a new CX-5 Signature at the peak of the pandemic shortages with 0.9% financing and $1000 below MSRP.

I absolutely love the car. As absurd and silly as this sounds, it's far more Cayenne than RAV-4. My only complaint is that gas mileage is mediocre to poor.

One thing i've learned in life is, once you make a large purchase, like a house or car, etc. Just stop looking and researching, you'll only be disappointed

Unfortunately Mazda is one of the car companies that is not going to be around in a few years. The transition to EV is disrupting legacy automakers and their lack of innovation and taking it seriously is not going to end well for them. They are hugely in debt and profits are down.
Lol. Have you not been following EV news? Car companies are realizing that they shouldn't put all their eggs in one basket when it comes to EV. Toyota has the right idea with hybrid and hydrogen vehicles.

Do they deliver these? Or do you have to deal with local dealers and pay whatever BS extra fees they'll add up?

Who cares about grand total? Price before tax, title, license and doc fees is what matters most to compare apples to apples.

Pre-COVID, CX-5's were easily had at 17-18% under MSRP, where Invoice used to be but no longer is. It doesn't mean the dealers are paying more than their vehicles. It's a game all manufacturers have played, increasing the Invoice price up and up over time, Mazda included.

I have no idea what people pay nowadays but the CX-5 is on its way out and dated, no matter the strong package that it is. We passed and bought a hybrid and we have a 2015 6 that was 18.3% off MSRP with good negotiation in a large market and a lot of dealers trying to play ball. Mazda has drug its feet and invested in stupid areas that haven't materialized and not invested in ones it should have (hybridization). We'll likely never buy Mazda again now that they are trying to move upmarket but I do not believe they will be around 10 years from now. They'll try to play the closer-to game and outprice themselves.
Wtf do you mean? The grand total is very important. Are you one of those people who cares more about the monthly payment rather than the OTD price? That's how dealerships get you. "You're only going to be paying this much monthly. What a great deal!" Then they slip in all the extra add-on crap that you doing need.

Plus, just about every Tesla in N. America is on recall now, a couple million cars.
The NHTSA's exhaustive probe centered on whether Tesla's safeguards within the Autopilot system were sufficient in preventing misuse. The inquiry, which scrutinized Tesla's response to a series of collisions, concluded recently, leading to a recall notice without placing direct blame on the Autopilot system itself. Instead, the focus was on the potential inadequacy of feature controls --->to prevent driver misuse<---.

By recall, it is an OTA update.

Hmm... I think the CX-50 is more Cayenne (like 2% Cayenne) than RAV4, but the CX-5 is a sporty-ish smaller SUV that competes in the same segment as the RAV4. Drove the -5 and -50 and found the -5 to feel cheap, noisy, and ride harsh. 0% loan could be enticing if you are looking for a vehicle to get you from point A to Z.

Dealers around here are still charging $2k over msrp. Love my Mazda but some of these dealers are a joke.
Find a "rational" Mazda dealer that's a cheap flight away.
Driving 3 hours+ home in a new ride...priceless.

I did my Android recall update last night. It has great new features and loved the new security patch as well. Looking forward to next year's Android recall as well.

I think this person meant the price of the car including tax and title is irrelevant because those prices vary by state. To compare apple to apple is better to exclude those, but including all the bogus fees.

I regularly get 34-37 highway mpg out of my wifes 19 Mazda CX-5. I would say they are very modestly rated. You can for sure do worse if you are constantly "ZOOM-ZOOM-ing."
My second car ever was a 1988 Mazda 626... Used to get 30+ MPG on that thing reliably on every single tank... Driving all over Chicago... 35 years later, MPG is the same?? Just seems we've lost the innovation edge, and EVs are by no means the answer, batteries are not cheap to replace and the range especially in cold Miodwestern states truly sucks...

CUV/SUV mpg's are turning AWD, and AWD affects mileage in a decent way.
A lot of manufacturers try to accomodate for this by CVTs, while Mazda is still using the "classic" 6 speed transmission.
the Corolla Cross is an AWD CUV with a CVT, and in real life tests, can miss the 32mpg rating on highway traffic.

If you want MPG, stick to a FWD small displacement compact, or hybrid.
Great advice

You left out the part where if you go used, you have an extra 10k in your pocket to invest for 3 years. Plus all the dealership fees you save by getting a used car. You can even skip the (frankly unfair) used-car sales tax if you buy from a private individual.
New car has free warranty. If you trade in , tax is much offset. Low interest for new car. Néw experience

I dont understand the point of buying these new. You can get a clean, recent low mileage used for thousands less, and these hold up, so the few extra miles aren't going to mean much.
how much is your 'low mileage used"?
