Mazda is having a hard time moving inventory. I bought a new CX-5 Signature at the peak of the pandemic shortages with 0.9% financing and $1000 below MSRP.

I absolutely love the car. As absurd and silly as this sounds, it's far more Cayenne than RAV-4. My only complaint is that gas mileage is mediocre to poor.

One thing i've learned in life is, once you make a large purchase, like a house or car, etc. Just stop looking and researching, you'll only be disappointed

Mazda doesnt get as much love as Honda or Toyota, but they are just as reliable, if not even surpassing them in some years.

Add the fact they are typically reasonably priced, easy on the eyes, and most importantly fun to drive...its a no brainer!

Bought our first mazda 10+ years ago, and my wife (and I to an extent) are hooked.

Got a '23 CX5 in the driveway now. Has its minor faults (not as big as competitors and okay on gas mileage), but the pros outweigh those minor cons significantly.
You know what's funny. Toyota and Mazda share the same assembly lines in Mississippi or Alabama I think. Plus when my brother-in-law bought the CX-5 2021. It was financed by Toyota motor company

Apparently Toyota financial is huge.. so Mazda uses them. Daughters 24 CX-5 was built in Japan.. same with my wife's 24 Forester. Not looking to get into a pissin match here with anyone, but the fact they are build in Japan makes me feel better..... From a reliability standpoint.

You are absolutely right. That's another reason why he bought that car cuz it was made in Hiroshima.

Mazda has been great lately. The CX-5 is easily the most popular but I opted for the CX-50 instead and have been super happy with it for the last ~7 months

ICE cars, lol
It is laughable that despite all the propaganda and taxpayer-funded incentives (rather than supply and demand) for EV, ICE is all that people really want.

Cx5= mi Japan; Cx50= mi Usa!

However, the Toyo tires on the Cx5=laughable. Good news is Costco has Michelin tires on sale quite often.

Planning to buy a CX9/90? watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtxljvgRaXY

Don't necessary answer your question but my Mazda 3 from 12 years ago is still going strong at 140k miles. Just needed a bigger car for the kids!
I have a 2013, 2 ltr skyactive, 188k miles, runs like new, but I do all my own maintenance, only hard thing to service is the pcv otherwise easy

"Monthly payments of $16.67 for every $1,000 financed."

It states 0% APR for well qualified buyers. If you are approved for that, you don't pay that $16.66/$1000 for the term of 60 months, right?

curious if there are penalties for paying it off at the month 59 mark lol

What exactly makes a car sold in 2023 dated? If it keeps costs low, I'd rather they didn't add a bunch of expensive and unnecessary modern bells and whistles to cars these days. Aside from safety options that actually affect crash performance, there isn't much added to cars these days that's not just a bunch of added fluff, and the turbo trend is actually bad for motor reliability.
And how many of these upgrades could have been purchased for less by buying a package? For example, very early this year my husband bought a 2023 Mazda CX-5, but the preferred options model.
He got the additional safety features he wanted plus more.
