Might be worth asking for a few extra free oil change coupons as well

Mazda is having a hard time moving inventory. I bought a new CX-5 Signature at the peak of the pandemic shortages with 0.9% financing and $1000 below MSRP.

I absolutely love the car. As absurd and silly as this sounds, it's far more Cayenne than RAV-4. My only complaint is that gas mileage is mediocre to poor.

Comparison In what way, build quality, performance or size? I thing they are different size segments.

I think the reason is that it is late in the model cycle for the CX5. Anecdotally I am seeing a ton of Honda CRV's on the road which also have the hybrid option.
If there was a hybrid option, I would be all over this. It seems like Toyota and Honda own the market on great hybrids, but they are scarce and overpriced still.

Who cares about grand total? Price before tax, title, license and doc fees is what matters most to compare apples to apples.

Pre-COVID, CX-5's were easily had at 17-18% under MSRP, where Invoice used to be but no longer is. It doesn't mean the dealers are paying more than their vehicles. It's a game all manufacturers have played, increasing the Invoice price up and up over time, Mazda included.

I have no idea what people pay nowadays but the CX-5 is on its way out and dated, no matter the strong package that it is. We passed and bought a hybrid and we have a 2015 6 that was 18.3% off MSRP with good negotiation in a large market and a lot of dealers trying to play ball. Mazda has drug its feet and invested in stupid areas that haven't materialized and not invested in ones it should have (hybridization). We'll likely never buy Mazda again now that they are trying to move upmarket but I do not believe they will be around 10 years from now. They'll try to play the closer-to game and outprice themselves.

bought a 2003 saturn ion, 75k miles, garage kept, driven by a fine grandma, $2,800 bucks, put an apple car play radio in for 80 bucks, has new tires, fresh oil change $2800 bucks out the door! Perfect price so when my kids wreck it, I won't care. The best part is, no child slavery to mine the cobalt, for this car!

I mean that 626 probably weighed nothing in comparison to modern cars and the engine was probably far less powerful (which is fine, but the American market is all about horsepower). Still things could be better but it is what it is. Big oil isn't just gonna let us have our cake and eat it too after all.... LMAO
Ha, good points. Cars and houses and people have become larger over the years. I mean, check out our food portions... lol

Got the 2022 select model. Amazing car. Gas mileage is fine, not the best in class. Drive is awesome! Absolutely love the car!

Good advice and it's the same with all commitments. Once you commit to something it's over for the other choices.

Wait until Toyota dealerships mark up $12K just for adding splash guards and other plastics to the car.
Sounds like any dealership under southeastern toyota (FL , GA and a couple of other states). They add a "cell phone package" for $60 - It's a 2 port charger, 1 usb-c cable and 1 apple cable!
We drive to TN (about 2.5 hours and got a much better deal without the BS.

How long they will continue making the current CX5 remains to be seen. CX-3 also over lapped CX30. But the CX-5 is ending with the current generation. CX-50 is it's replacement.
CX-50 is not a replacement for CX-5. Different type of vehicles for different market.
CX-30 and CX-90 pretty much improved the previous model. The CX-50 is more for the Subaru crowd with light off-roading capability. That's not what a CX-5 is for.

No-one mentioned how to get 0apr? What credit score you should be?
725 or higher. (they'll look at your debt/income ratio). Don't charge too much on your credit cards before applying for this car loan. Keep the credit utilization on ALL of your cards BELOW the 15% threshold!

It's 6 years in so at the end of its lifecycle and in consideration to be discontinued. I think it likely will be. Totally agree re: everything else. My hybrid SUV has a small turbo and I already know it will be an additional cost inflating TCO at some point.
Putting a turbo in a hybrid seems so counterintuitive to me! But Hyundai Kia and Honda are doing so among others. And turbos have higher maintenance and repair costs as the car ages then aspirated engines, this will only increase in hybrids that use a turbo that will be constantly turning on and off.

Thanks for the pro tip. Could you please confirm any dealership that honors this in South Florida- Miami-Fort Lauderdale area? thanks!
No problem! Glad I could help.

Easy thing: call dealership and ask (I did it for 15 dealerships nationwide when I was looking to get my Miata in a particular configuration 4 months back; and buy out of state with shipping).

Guesstimating: I contacted Hodges Mazda and Jenkis Mazda (I think Jacksonville area) and they both were honoring S-Plan. I ended up buying through a dealership in MO due to almost no 'dealer fee' and no BS add-ons.

DM for more info as I might miss replies on the thread (I am using SD app)
