Mazda is having a hard time moving inventory. I bought a new CX-5 Signature at the peak of the pandemic shortages with 0.9% financing and $1000 below MSRP.

I absolutely love the car. As absurd and silly as this sounds, it's far more Cayenne than RAV-4. My only complaint is that gas mileage is mediocre to poor.

Premiun Plus
MSRP (negotiable) $36,500.00

Lug Nuts and Wheel Locks (negotiable) $225.00

Interior Lighting Kit (negotiable) $350.00

Rear Bumper Guard (negotiable) $135.00

Cargo Cover (negotiable) $250.00

Delivery Fee (non-negotiable) $1,375.00

Total Sticker Price $38,835.00

Friends and Family discount -$2,600.00
Mazda Loyalty discount -$500.00
Total Price of Car (This probably where your bread and butter is in terms of where you can negotiate) $35,735.00

I asked for free weather mats and got it at the end

Might be worth asking for a few extra free oil change coupons as well

One thing i've learned in life is, once you make a large purchase, like a house or car, etc. Just stop looking and researching, you'll only be disappointed

1) lack of ability to charge at home
2) not everyone qualifies for tax credit
3) build quality on a Tesla is horrendous. Ask me how I know.
How is the build quality "horrendous"?

I bought two Lexus in the last five years and despite putting a combined 70,000 miles on the two cars, each one is now worth the same as I paid for it.

Two takeaways :
1) Continue buying quality
2) inflation sucks
We know who to thank for the inflation.

1/2 makes sense. Build quality has improved significantly (though not perfect) and they're very good about fixing anything after delivery.

I get it's less than ideal and would be better if they QA'd themselves but eh not the end of the world imo.

I'm used to paying an OTD with all their fees and all my taxes add in way below MSRP. Maybe inventory isn't there yet.

no spare with a Tesla. Sis was on way to work, got a flat and it too Tesla almost 5 hours to get to her. They have a van (gas burner) that services a huge are. They took the wheel and charged her for a new tire at $400. ouch. Other info: insurance companies have raised premiums due to high repair cost, bad handling in snow, ice, and rain since the tires are big, wide and not a 4 season tire. Cold weather below freezing really knocks down the battery juice. Interior is cramped. That apple bottom styling is way overdue for a refresh.

So you admit quality isn't good and wonder why people don't want to buy brand new fixer upper?

I'd argue that the majority of CUVs/SUVs NEVER leaves the pavement.
They won't even go around a vehicle waiting to make a turn if it involves a tire touching the shoulder. Serious, I see it all the time.

Thanks. That's the thing. Interest rates are stupid high right now in New vehicles 6%+ (thanks Joe) so I look at amortizatio of the whole loan.
