Except it wasn't for everyone. you know that. That like saying oh I got a rare 50% off coupon on everything and only available for one store. That's why you got thumb down. Surely you don't care. Heck why mention it.
The "sweet" deal is when everyone has the chance for new record LOW price hence this deal…so far. The $138 Series S deal from 12/14 from Walmart dot com was hot, lasting 5 minutes, and coupon not needed and factually available for all.
My friend works for Walmart and he got a better Series X deal than me, you, everyone else with the employee discount to make it $250. Lucky him.
It's $399 direct from Microsoft and you can get Microsoft gift cards 20% off pretty easily... Would make it $320 if you want to put in a smidge of effort.
That's a good question. As far as I'm aware, the MSRP hasn't changed. A few days back, MS made the $399.99 price an official Christmas special but made no mention of an MSRP change. With the way these have appeared to be selling though, I wonder if MS would consider a MSRP reduction down to $399.99. MS is all about Game Pass subs and Id bet that the sales are also driving GP subs. I think it would be a wise choice for MS. I'm not sure what manufacturing costs look like for the Series X nowadays but even if $399 meant a small loss per console, Id still do it. The sooner MS can start eating away at Sony, the better the next generation will go for MS. Personally, I'm more of a Sony guy but I know this next generation could be when I flip.
They are really going to need to do something. It's been way too easy to get one for 350 this holiday. Going back to 499 after the holiday is going to be a hard sell for anyone that was paying any attention. We know from the FTC leaks a diskless X is supposed to launch next fall, but sales are going to absolutely tank this year if if the try to go back to MSRP.
Exactly man. Getting a bit tired of people bragging about "targeted" coupons which should have been available to everyone. We get it, now stfu 🤫.
anyone can sign up for a registry coupon from target. that's all you needed to get a series x for less than $300. just have to plan ahead because you have to wait 2 weeks before you get the coupon

Sony needs to do something extensively. Not MS.
$349-399 new MSRP is better than crawling back to $499.99. MS will forever be second to Sony thanks to E3 2013 mistake, and to help MS trying to be equal, they gotta price the flagship console by $100+. Monthly GPU subscription is $15. That's easily affordable for many. Sony can't even touch it.
The only thing Ms has to do to help retain consumer choice of preferred console is to KEEP the disc drive option. Idk if they will unfortunately.
Btw, I predict the ongoing Series S 512GB to be phased out, 1TB to be $249.99 from $349.99, and 2TB Series X2 digital edition to be $499.99.

That leak is what drove me to buy a Series X back in October when I thought I was getting a deal for the new console + Starfield for about $430. Obviously, I should've waited. One of the YTers that I watch on occasion mentioned that he thought the FTC leak was real but outdated. To make a long story short, he thinks MS may be attempting to beat Sony to release on the next generation by a year or so. It worked really well for a prior generation and based on past release cycles, it wouldnt be out of the question. He had more reasoning too but I can't remember it all though I remember thinking that he made quite a bit of sense. If your interested, Im sure you could find it on YT. Author is JayWood2010.
There's no big incentive to get an xbox if you already have a ps5, right? Only personal reason is to play PoE on better graphics, but I'm basically buying it just for one game lol.
