Currently have a '19 CX-5 with 20k mi. It's been at the dealership for the last 3 weeks because the tranny died. At least it's under warranty and they give me a rental Mazda.

It's nice to see a decent vehicle retailing for under $30K plus cash incentives. The market has finally gotten to a point where it's completely walking away from $80,000 F150s, and Big 3 dealers are in a serious panic because they have way more money tied up in vehicles than what the market will pay for them. Every bubble eventually bursts, and I see a wave of dealership bankruptcies coming. Hard to pity them after their $10,000 "market adjustments".

I'll get downvoted for this, but check insurance rates before you pull the trigger on this - they may have immobilizers now, but Kia Boyz don't know the difference. Also, you'll want to check your oil every time you stop for gas, and keep the receipts for every single oil change if you want that 10 year warranty to cover the eventual engine replacement.

Great deal. I've been researching a new car for my dad and used to think Hyundai had the best warranty in the business until I started reading the horror stories on Reddit about the how they don't stand behind their cars, and the dealers won't go to bat for the customers not to mention the extremely high failure rates. Too bad, the Hyundai design folks really have something good going on.

I disagree. This deal and the Mazda CX5 deal are because buyers are transitioning to other vehicles including gas guzzling F150s. Gas prices are lower than during the beginning of the pandemic. Historically when gas is cheap, people buy bigger vehicles. Smaller models often end up over stocked especially when prices reach their lowest, resulting in incentives. Also the main buyer of these vehicles may also be transitioning to EVs thanks to government incentives.

With these interest promotions both the Tucson and CX5 are great options. The Tucson will give you a little more room and a great warranty but the CX5 drives better.
Actually I booked CX5.
I went to the dealer for a test drive and was serious about buying.
Even negotiated the price and I can tell they were really, really desperate and when I told them that I would put down almost 50% cash, but the only thing I pay for car value was MSRP and tax and title all other bullshit dealer add ons and crap not a penny, so they agreed.
But, after I test drove I was really disappointed with the handling, the drag and very low power engine.
We have had RAV4 and currently driving a 2013 Honda CR-V, compared to both CX5 looks very under power.
But, the interior looks really good and luxury compared to the same level trim of Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4.

I will try Hyundai Tucson now.
Hopefully VW Tiguan should run 0% APR soon.

Tesla is changing the game! Direct to consumer model is finally giving a run for all these dealerships. It's still cheaper to buy a model Y AWD long range than a Tucson limited FWD with tax incentives.
Model Y cheaper than Camry , why not go electric and tech one

Expensive, bad for the environment, and trip anxiety. Who could have guessed demand might go down after the cool factor wore off Smilie.

I'm just speaking from my own experience. Several of my friends drive sonatas and those all started burning oil at 130k.

Make sure you research the mode and make but from what I have seen they don't last as long as certain Toyota or Honda model years. Probably why they are cheaper but my cars have surpassed 300k several times. Pick a good model it will save you in the long run. And even with Japanese models certain years are more problematic that others. Hopefully this is a good one

Get the hybrid version or you will regret it. The 2.5 is soooo slow and dangerous.

Are the two $2.5k rebates State or county specific?

Don't understand all the hate for EV, it is the future of cars and direct to consumer model will prevail. The last thing you want is to be in dealship and negotiate w sale crooks who only care about their making quota and a fat commission checks.

You can't compare the two. The Lexus is targeted towards a more "senior" demographic with suspension built like you are not driving but rowing a boat in a placid lake. Model Y has some semblance of road feel to it to connect the driver to what the car is actually doing.

Brand new automobiles are never a slick deal. Why are we wasting so many pages arguing over which one to get 🤣🙄🤡
