Currently have a '19 CX-5 with 20k mi. It's been at the dealership for the last 3 weeks because the tranny died. At least it's under warranty and they give me a rental Mazda.

It's nice to see a decent vehicle retailing for under $30K plus cash incentives. The market has finally gotten to a point where it's completely walking away from $80,000 F150s, and Big 3 dealers are in a serious panic because they have way more money tied up in vehicles than what the market will pay for them. Every bubble eventually bursts, and I see a wave of dealership bankruptcies coming. Hard to pity them after their $10,000 "market adjustments".

I'll get downvoted for this, but check insurance rates before you pull the trigger on this - they may have immobilizers now, but Kia Boyz don't know the difference. Also, you'll want to check your oil every time you stop for gas, and keep the receipts for every single oil change if you want that 10 year warranty to cover the eventual engine replacement.

Their reliability has increased significantly and is comparable to the Japanese brands. Consumer Reports has the Tucson Hybrid as second best small suv.
That's just crazy talk.

Did you happen to do research on their transmissions dying early? If so, do ya know at what mileage would you generally find out if you got a dud?

Bought a car for 50k. It cost me $50/month in electricity, and $100 for insurance. I don't care what the depreciation is, I don't plan to sell it for 8 years when the warranty runs out. I'm happy as hell with it.
Wait until the reup you. My Tesla insurance went up 100% last month from $1200 to $2400 a year. It used to cost what my old Nissan sedan did, now it cost more than any of the other 3 cars (actually 2 if you combine them) which 2 are PHEV and an ICEr which is ironically the cheapest to insure. They are catching on. Also I assume at some point my state is going to catch on and tax my BEV to heck.

Also I believe the warranty is not solely 8 years there is a milage limit also (I think mine is 125k because I live in a ZEV state)--and high mileage users (for obvious reasons) seem to be the ones hitting the pack swap now. As these vehicles begin to age, I believe we will see the weakness of current battery tech in BEV. No way I am keeping mine outside the warranty and I would feel the resale would be dramatically reduced outside of warranty.

Did you know that Vinyl records outsold CD's last year. Sometimes new is not better.

I went to the Hyundai dealership yesterday. I was in between the 2024 Tucson and 2024 Santa fe. They both have the 0% apr. I ended up choosing the Santa Fe SEL AWD for $30,400. With the AZ fees, taxes, extended warranty and gap insurance, it totalled $37680 over the next 60 months, $0 downpayment, with the 0% apr, my monthly payment will be $628, I don't have to make my first payment until March 15th (90 days). I am very happy with my purchase. Not bad for a midsize SUV
I'm in az do u mind telling us which stealership earned ur business thank u

I will never buy a Hyundai (or Kia) ever again. While their new cars are safe from the "Kia boys", their handling of my wife's 2 time stolen vehicle is enough to never deal with them again. We've been out of a car for almost 8 months total between the two events while we waited for parts and the best they can do is offer up a steering wheel club and a sticker saying "we fixed it, we promised" as a deterrent.

Also, their value doesn't hold up, at all. Not to mention that a lot of insurance companies won't insure new Hyundai buys. Maybe 2024 models are exempt, but I would check with your insurance first.

Is hardly call this an suv. It's more like what we used to call station wagons.
just about all crossovers are legally classified as station wagons

The big three were price gouging, as well as the dealers. My brother works at a ford f150 plant and everyone in the plant knows that ford is making a killing with the prices people will pay for the trucks. Some of the newer trucks have a 140% profit margin. Thats ridiculous.

0% APR, 100% chance of getting stolen
The models stolen were the key versions not the push button which this has. Also the newer gen Tuscon and SantaFe have the Smartstream engines not the collaborative Mitsu/FCA Theta II engine. I personally think the OCI is far too long for these vehicles, they should go back to the 2x/5k OCI and I think all ICE will be better off for it--especially if you live in a 4 season environment or the desert.

Not dismissing the issues they have had which have been horrendous, but perhaps some information is useful for those who are considering a new one. Also the Hybrids (which use the same smartstream engine) have been quite reliable and the gas milage is legit. I do not put Hyundai in the category of Toyota however, and Honda had a bunch of issues w/ their Earthdreams engines early on also. Toyota's are also known to have piston ring issues, but that can be mitigated by a more aggressive OCI.

I ended up going with the Mazda CX5 deal but this is a great alternative for anyone looking for a new Hyundai
Isn't the Mazda a better deal? There AWD models seem to be cheaper than the Tucson.

No research, but 'online people' folks report transmission issues. But of course it's very skewd, I wouldn't have written anything if it didn't happen. It drives well and I personally like the styling over the Tuscon. However I am considering the Tuscon based on my current experience with the CX-5. The warranty is a selling factor for me.

Show me a Ford 10-Q where they make 140% GM on an F150 or F250, then I will believe you. Otherwise stop with the misinformation. No vehicle makes 140% GM... I do however agree that a $60-$80k F150 is not for the everyday buyer unless they want to destroy their retirement account.

Maybe watches and cologne make those GM but not vehicles.

Having driven "luxury" vehicles since 15 as well as working at Enterprise as a detailer (and driving all their cars) for a few years I can attest that Hyundai's ride quality and quality in general is very much so economy. I don't have too much experience with Mazda but it just seems a huge step above at a great price but yeah, transmission issues at 20K is a red flag
