Yeah in theory. All that logic goes right out the window as you end up spending years of your life digging through that chest freezer to find that pack of burger from 2014 that is down there... somewhere...

Got mine in a couple weeks back, mine did come with a dent on top the door. Other than that it's quiet and does it job. There's no light or anything even when you open the door so it's kind of hard to tell if it's on or not.

Got from a previos slick deal (Sep '21) for $212. Mine came undamaged but I happened to be home to help the fedex person unload it from the truck which probably helped because it was quite heavy. Good amount of shelves. There is a cubby at the very top that is sort of worthless above the temperature dial unelss you have some really small flat stuff to freeze.

Have it in my basement and no complaints. I have never defrosted but am definitely overdue. It's pretty quiet, and doesn't run the compressor all that often.

I'm not sure where the high original price came from on this one. Best Buy has a similarly sized chest freezer for less and it specifies energy use too, which I think is an important aspect of a fridge/freezer.

I checked and mine was purchased from a Slickdeal on July 29, 2021. Price was $219, 235 with tax.

It does have a small shelf at the very top. I use it for ice cube trays. About the time that I cannot slide the trays back into that shelf due to the frost buildup is about the time I defrost it. I set mine right in the middle on the temperature dial and I did use a thermometer. It keeps the freezer between 15 and 18 F.

Took a risk & ordered the 3.5 cu ft one. I expect dents so as long as it's not totally an eye sore and fully operational I'll keep it 🤞
