You'll need a framing nailer. These are finish nailers which are for finish carpentry. FWIW I have this compressor and it works great with my framing nailer.

Lookes like nailer can only do 2.5 inch nails. How do you do framing if the need 3.5 inch nails? Am I missing something?

These are finish guns for trim and paneling, you want a framing gun for larger nails.

Hmm, was hoping it was a crown stapler. I have a Porter Cable battery stapler+brad hybrid now, but it struggles with long nails and hardwood. Anyone have experience using these with hardwood like maple?

Yup I got that offer too. $165 with 3 nailers...makes it very tempting. Can this be used with a spray gun? I might need to repaint some metal cabinets soon.

I have 26gal and hose reel that's just taking up space in the garage.
You need to check the CFM requirements on your sprayer to know. This has an Air Delivery SCFM @ 40PSI of 3.5 and and Air Delivery SCFM @ 90PSI of 2.6.

For best results you probably want something upwards of 10-12SCFM at the appropriate PSI for your sprayer.

Will it work, probably, but you might get splattering and inconsistent results because the air output will fluctuate quite a bit with such a small tank.

This or craftsman? which one is better?

I have sold craftsman tools as a salesperson in Sears for years. I have also seen ridgid at work when my Carpenter was using it. Ridgid I think is a notch up than Craftsman and provides versatility and the feel of power. Craftsman hand tools are specially good. Their powered tools used to be good but they are a notch lower than Ridgid which can be used by professionals and Craftsman powered tools and air tools are very comfortable purchase for home owners but not professionals.

Direct Tools has the same compressor as a factory reconditioned for $69, plus $5 shipping.

You give up: Ridgid 3 year warranty, 3 nail guns.

If you need those specific nail guns, the Home Depot deal is a good one. Personally, I'd prefer to pick a different assortment of nail guns than the package deal, and I'm sure some folks already own nail guns and are replacing an existing compressor.

I have had two of these stolen, one from my truck, one from my garage. I am more careful now.

I had this one and the Bostich set from Menards which while loud, ran a bit quieter.

Since I have 4 nail guns, two of which I never used, I sell them.

On the last two replacements, I have done a bundle deal and sold the nail guns on marketplace or C-list and got most of my money back. Last time I priced the guns at $50-60 each and practically broke even on the compressor, but never made a profit. Problem is there are other guys doing the same thing when the deals are out. I found as long as you are cheaper you will get rid of them in a couple of weeks.

All items in this set including the compressor qualify for the Ridgid Lifetime warranty when purchased from HD, as found in the Q&A at Home Depot, from the Ridgid rep.

What the heck is the difference between a Brad, finish, and straight stapler? I tried looking it up but found mixed results

I bought this kit a year or two ago and it's great for home DIY. The compressor is noisy so I wear ear protection when using it but from a value for money perspective, I don't think anything beats this. I use the 16GA nailer on solid wood (stairs, flooring, etc) and the 18GA on softer, thinner, material like trim. Haven't used the stapler yet but I believe that is good for crown molding.

I just got this not too long ago at $200. I'm curious if they'll price adjust me
I got mine adjusted. Text their customer service at 38698, go through their automated sms menu until you get transfered to a rep, give them your order number, purchase price and current price. They will price adjust no question asked, mine was processed immediately and received a confirmation email.

It's not a lifetime warranty. It's a lifetime "service agreement," which means they'll replace wear parts if you bring it to them. For the compressor, that would be things like o-rings.

If the pump motor blows or the piston breaks at 3.5 years, they are not going to give you a replacement compressor or repair it for free.

Brad and finish both shoot straight nails. Brads are a bit stouter, finish nailer makes a smaller hole, easier to hide for better woodworking results.

Stapler...as you would expect.

In my own, highly variable DIY work, I've never had a need for both a 16 and an 18ga nailer. Both are good for finish carpentry or furniture. The stapler is good for wire fences, upholstery, and can be used for carpentry where the staple doesn't interfere with finished looks.

I went to jump on this one, but not avaliable to ship to home. Womp. If you are near a physical store, this is a good price.
