I just got back from the store, they added it and the rep knew the promo code but looking at my account, it's showing up as an added line for $40. Reading other forums it may take a few days for the promo to show, but right now total bill shows increased with no mention of a promo. Hope it changes.
Customer rep said it's a free line added yesterday and now today when I looked at my account, my bill is increased. The new rep today asked to wait for biling period to end to reflect promo. Is this a normal process?
To check if you got the promo go to Plan Details page, and you should see "Line Discount ID230289 (Additional Lines) text with green check mark under applied discounts and promotions.
If you see it then the rep is right and you just have to wait.

Note that I don't think you can see this particular page on the mobile app, I had to log in to my TMobile account via a desktop browser to see this info.
48 hours ago, I added the "free" line to my account and I still had not seen the promo code on my account as of a couple hours ago. The new line showed up on my account soon after i ordered the line and my monthly estimated bill went up by $20. In light of all that, I gave up and cancelled the new line... I wasn't willing to risk getting charged for a new line... but if you're more of a risk taker than I am, it might work out for you if you wait longer.
Just for reference, the one time (Dec 2022) when I successfully added a free line to my account, the promo code was added to my account within a day after I ordered the line, pretty much simultaneously as when the new line showed up on my account.
I had a helpful tmobile rep. at my local Costco that was willing to work with me to find the promo. She looked up my number using the tablet, scanned in my ID to unlock my account, and on the next page that loads it had the view segments option. You might need to scroll a little down but it's on that particular page which loads after scanning your ID. Opening view segments showed I didn't have the BYOD Line Discount id230289. So I knew I wasn't eligible just as confirmed by T-Force when I asked yesterday.
(On Simple Choice plan) Last Dec 2022 when they had a similar promotion, some folks were reporting that adding a new line even when told they were ineligible still gave them the promotion. I can confirm this is true because I tried that 'experiment' and got the promotion as well on my 9th line. I'm wondering if this will happen again.
No go for me. I'm on Magenta Max Business and I had 2 paid lines and 3 free lines + $25/month internet. They offered me a BOGO line deal ($20 for 2 lines) but I didn't take them up on it.
Anyone have the code/details about the BOGO promotions that's referred in this thread, apologies if already mentioned in the thread, I did a basic read through and unable to find it
