Availability and timing? The price history feature is nice, let them decide.

The point is this is not a deal. Availability and timing don't mean Jack in this situation.
As a buyer I'd rather wait to buy a new one at a lower price than buy an open box at a higher price.

There are some better options now at the given price, too. For instance, you can the acer nitro with a QHD display, 13th Gen processor and 4070 for the same price as this open box.

Had this been new at the mentioned price, it still would've made some sense. But an open box for a higher price? Hard no.

Could you please link the Acer Nitro you're referring to? I can't seem to find it. How is the build quality of Acer?

Thanks. What's with these gaming laptops having only 512 GB SSD? Given the size of modern games, the SSD for a decent gaming laptop should have at least 1 TB or more. I guess that's why they're on sale.

You can upgrade easily and the cost to upgrade is cheaper than what manufacturers charge for 1tb

Maybe for experienced folks. I've never opened a laptop before so I'd rather not mess anything up on an expensive laptop by trying to change the SSD on my own. Local computer repair shops near me want to charge $100-$150 just for the labor to replace SSD and add RAM.

If you don't know how to open a laptop I don't know what to say about the rest of your skills...

Normally it's just 8-12 screws, a pry tool or your finger, and you're in. Not really anything remotely complicated or difficult like soldering.

As for Wajahat, this is still a solid price. Sure it's $100 more expensive, but we don't know if it will ever come back to $999, or when. It could be in 3 months or even further now that the holiday season is ending.

EDIT: Now Wajahat posted a deal for the HP Victus with a $20 worse price than before. Should I go out of my way to bash his post just because I want to make mine seem better??

Because the MSRP is still $1400. Sure it isn't the same as the deals you've posted of this laptop, but it is still a deal… Just not as good of a deal.

Damn. I was about to pull the trigger on the Asus Rog Zephyrus G14 for $945 open box. But it only has a 3060. Now I'm thinking that may not be as good of a deal as I had thought.

I bought this for $930 open box when this was $999 new. Build quality feels good but they do skimp on the screen quality. It's nice that it comes with a 1 TB SSD and has another m.2 slot for expansion to which I added a 2TB SSD. I also upgraded the ram to 32gb 3200mhz DDR4 from a previous DoorDash Best Buy deal. Solid performance from the CPU for switch emulation for those interested in that even though it is 12th gen but it did thermally throttle on Baldur's Gate 3 when playing unplugged before I upgraded the thermals with PTM7950. Doesn't throttle now. Really solid for the price after those tweaks.
