When a digital game is on sale, it's always best to buy it from a retailer vs the eshop. You get more gold coins that way.

Edit- apparently not always! But if it's a newer game, yes- if you want those extra gold coins

You press + while the title is highlighted on the Switch. BUT you only get gold coins for a physical title within a year of its release date. After that, nothing. Digital always earn gold coins.

I enjoy it as an Ace Attorney fan. May be too young for a 7 year old since you are basically solving murders.

Except when the game has been out for more than 12 months. Then you get no coins at all.

You only earn coins from a physical if the game is fairly new. If you inserted, let's say "Super Mario Odyssey", you weren't earn gold coins. I don't know what the exact time frame from release date to current date to earn though

Don't attorneys get murderers off the hook like OJ did? It's the DAs that prosecute them.
This game doesn't make sense.

For physical, I found the opposite to be true and didn't get a dime back in gold points from more expensive first party titles like BOTW because it seems you only get the coins if the game is newer.

At homepage press + button and go to the link "my Nintendo reward" or something along that line (lower left of the screen). If the game has been released for too long ago, you won't be able to redeem the points but otherwise should work.

If you go into the game properties, yes, you can claim coins. It must be within the first year of release though, so older games don't count. (I think it's one year)
