Was in Micro Center in Duluth, Georgia, on 12/21, and saw this deal on the endcap of the HDD aisle. Shelf tag showed dates of 11/28-12/31/2023.

Yes, these are SMR drives, not CMR, so definitely not suggested for use in NAS, etc.

I'm sure someone will chime in with "I had a WD and it died so I'm never buying WD again!" etc, but you can say the same about pretty much any drive. Unless you have actual failure rates or more than anecdotal observation, it doesn't mean anything.
