It's a simple trick to figure it out but I don't want to disclose so that Adorama doesn't change their UI.

I'm thinking we'll get these at $600, but who knows...

Looks like they keep changing the link, which is interesting...
People like to think they are getting a deal with these but let's be honest they have been repeatedly posted for months there is a reason they have 1500 pairs of speakers (3000 speakers) sitting in warehouse since they released many years ago and have barely any reviews. People can say what they want to make themselves feel good about the deals but the quantities sitting in a warehouse tells the real story.

Denon, Marantz, Boston Acoustics, Polk Audio, Definitive Technology and Bowers & Wilkins are owned by same company as of now.

Quality of DefTech D15 and D17 is pretty awesome.

Please note these speakers need powerful amp. Don't expect much from regular 100w per channel receivers.

Also check https://support.definitivetechnol...nditioning

Also swap the speakers and listen.
Is an onkyo nr7100 enough for these?

Is there anything to this Crutchfield "comparing speakers" through your headphones? Obviously they are trying to simulate it. I liked the klipsch better through this. You can tell the difference in power required to push these vs the klipsch.

I run Polk rti series in 7.1.4 config. Rti 8s in the front and sides. How much of an upgrade would these be? I would need to commit to replacing them all to timbre matched speeks of the same series... So it'd be a bigger decision than just fronts.

The build quality and finish on the cabinets are worthy of the original msrp and they sound really good compared to other higher quality set ups I've listened to. Sound is subjective to everyone and the highs on these are not bright and in your face, which I like.

The foundational performance is objectively there, and with the beautiful cabinets it's amazing the price which these are being sold at, my two cents.
I bought D15 from the other threads($250 each). Yes, I would strongly agree with you on the cabinet's great build quality and finish. Soundwise, it matches my expectations but is not worth the retail price of 699 each(from their Def. website) I have Triangle Antal EX(15 years old and paid 1100 each - made in France) and I can tell a huge difference. D15 produces good enough bass but the tweeter and mid-range sound dull compared to my triangle - it sounds like they are in a different league. As long as buyers expect the sound of a $400 - $500(each) price tag, I think it's worth considering to purchase one.

Happy listening!

Has anyone tried the Definitive D15/D17 with the Yamaha Aventage RX-A4A receiver? Just want to know if the 110 WPC can push the D17's enough.

I paired D15 with three different integrated amplifiers - NAD C328(80W), Pathos Classic one MKIII(140W), and Sony UDA1(40W). Even Sony UDA1 handled D15 great in adequate volume. so don't worry about low sensitivity specification.

Nice.
Does Adorama price adjust if it goes down in 30 days to $600?

* Hi, I have Rti6 for many years. I strongly believe you'd do better with newer speakers for music. Reason being that I've acquired Triangle br02 recently. A smaller speaker that's got much bigger sound stage and better imaging.

* For movies the Rti sounds more enjoyable to me with in the face voice and sound effects.

* Based on the frequent sales and open-box deals at best buy with DEF speakers. I don't think these would be a good upgrade in a long run.

I currently using Sony str-dn1070 as amp and 2 Elac debut reference dbr62. will this two better than my dbr62? I am thinking to either use it to be a 4.0 system or move the debut to my desk.

if I do 4.0 system, which speaker do you think should be the back one? Thanks!!

Why do you say so? Is it not a good deal for them? I have jbl 530s in the bedroom driven by Denon S970 and was looking to replace them with these. Any input is appreciated.
These are a downgrade in sound quality although the towers will obviously play lower. It all comes down to engineering in the end. You'll lose the magic to gain a little lower end. If you have a sub then don't waste your floor real estate with D17s.

Not selling very fast (about 10 pairs of each in a day). The D15 deal sold down pretty quickly.

It's fascinating to see so many commentors state that these are not good sound quality despite 3rd party measurements and even state that they are clearly a downgrade from speakers like Borea BR02/03 (!!) and JBL 530 (sure, to maybe 60-80 hz). I guess this really shows that marketing / media / perception and a preferred "sound signature" is a huge part of how well a speaker sells, not just a solid neutral sound. Poor Definitive

Yes, I also don't agree with other commentators that DEF D15/17 is a downgrade compared to BR02/3. I had BR03 for 6 months and I feel D15 sounds better in overall harmonic experience. BR03 may appear to produce very crips in mid and high but it had significantly inefficient bass compared to the D15. D15 tends to produce mushy sounds in larger-scale music but I recall BR03 did the same.

These are very big. I would still have bought the D15's had these been priced the same. The D15's are similar size wise if you had a typical bookshelf on a 24" stand.
