I bought one, used it once, and immediately returned it. I have never a worse experience with a tool in my life. Like you I own nearly every tool in the Dewalt 20V lineup but absolutely hated this thing.

My neighbor had this for about a week before he returned it. plagued with battery issues. It was inconsistent in cutting. However, it was super quiet, other than his occasional cursing,

I have this package - didn't get a deal like this though.

The FlexVolt batteries don't seem to overheat like the regular 20v ones do with this mower in my experience - but my anecdotal experience doesn't mean others will see the same. I honestly love the mower - beats the doors off the Ryobi I previously used.

This is such a ridiculously good deal I would instantly buy a second mower if it was available near me.
That's good to hear. I generally take negative reviews regarding lawn care tools with a grain of salt, as we don't get the whole story behind it, just the negative experience.

Yes, gas will win out in terms of power and sustained runtime all day, there is a bit more thinking that goes with electric equipment though and, truth be told, the proper way is to mow no more than 1/3 of your grass at a time, don't mow when it's raining, mow more frequently during the growing season--Which applies to both gas and electric (for yard health) but moreso electric, as this really makes the motor work harder, drains the batteries faster and thus you have heat. And using electric equipment in hot weather is problematic as well and not too many people are willing to adjust their timeline for mowing (early morning) and still insist on going out when air temp is 80-90+, which puts the mower and batteries past their limits for operating temp when you factor in the sun beaming down on your equipment. Not an issue with gas. So, for anyone considering going electric, keep that in mind.

What it comes down to is just taking the time to read your manuals and adjusting for the equipment you bought. Stick with gas if you're an old dog that ain't willing to learn a new trick and buy the appropriate equipment for the job.

Honda stopped manufacturing mowers. What's left is the last of them. Sounds like they will sell the commercial machines for a bit longer.

Went to 4 stores this morning. Just missed out at 2 to a fellow slickdealer. The next 2 stores were out even though inventory said they had 4. Final and furthest store had 4 units. Went to buy them and 2 of them had the batteries stolen from them. Got the display model and one unopened unit. That takes care of the Portland area.

Make sure to open both boxes: unit and battery. If the batteries are gone, have them swap the batteries from the display model into the retail box and check out. My store would not replace the missing ones they just rma'd them back to home base.

That's great. Just picked up the last one at clackamas HD, the batteries were in the box which was great. The associate was awesome and helped get it down and was surprised these were so marked down.
Thanks for the info, did you check Jantzen Beach and SE 192nd Vancouver WA?

Lithium batteries + mower with long history of problems with batteries ....

Be careful your garage doesn't burn down (and your house, if it's attached to your garage).
Then you do not want a Tesla or any other EVs. They have lithium based batteries too.

I have owned this lawnmower for almost 2 years now. I bought it because I was already there invested into DeWalt. Batteries don't like sitting .... Keep that in mind. This is an amazing deal I got mine for $300 years ago so pretty nice deal. Hell I am tempted to grab it and just sell mine πŸ˜‚

20v is not enough power to mow any lawn, it will constantly die and turn off when you hit a thick patch or taller patch.
60v to 80v or higher is highly recommended.
