Reviews suggest that the seller Tech Union often passes refurbished or used products as new. Beware. 86% positive reviews isn't great.
A19 is actually a bulb size. Base size would be E26.
Dud. At least make a small effort to understand lamb sizes and color temperature before buying 20+ light bulbs.

Just bought this shit from Woot. The light is not "white" at all!!! Don't be misled. Also the bulb is so large and won't fit into most lamp cover

I paid $3 per bulb for some generic brand. Even if it last half as long as these Philips, it will still be cheaper... so wondering what's so good about these? It can help lengthen your life???

A normal BR30 bulb is about $2.66/bulb in a 10 pack, in a 6pack they're about $3-4/bulb. $7/bulb for the Hue is not terrible considering the Hue integration. What do you expect, $4.5/bulb?

i can't speak about the light color, but as far as sizing its not larger than a standard BR30. maybe next time don't buy a BR30 unless you have/need to replace the ceiling lights. laugh out loud

Bought 4 Hue color changing bulbs for our home theater last November. We used them on average less than once a week and only for a few minutes at a time until we started a movie. 1 of the four died after 8 months. Absolutely ridiculous for a ~$50 bulb.

Save your money. Buy 20 generic bulbs.

Like most things in life today this has turned into a cult.

Shut up and buy it! Don't question it! Don't use logic! One of us! One of us! One of us!

I have white hues and the major advantage so found compared to the random Amazon cheapos is stability. The Hue bridge maintains all the connections and rock solid following power outages. The direct WiFi's will have sporadic issues on occasion .. plus I have to use some sketchy Chinese software to setup.

Does anyone actually like these? I need to have a solid referral before I commit lol.

I have 4 ambient (warmth-shifting) Philips Hue BR30 bulbs. They're currently in my kitchen's down lights, but I could use more in my basement, also in these small can-lights I use sometimes where a lamp won't go.

Pros:
-Energy efficient vs incandescent or fluorescent (or CFL)
-Long lasting
-Cheaper than Incandescent or CFL after about a year of use.
-Flicker free
-All lumen output is focused out one direction, from a wide diffuser
-75W equivalent is plenty for home use, unless you have few lights in a large room.
-Hue smart device benefits (automatic off, voice control, dimming, remote control when not home, ability to adjust one bulb even if a whole set is tied to one light switch)
-each bulb acts as a network repeater for Philips' proprietary wireless network
-etc

Cons:
-More expensive up-front
-Hue bridge recommended for best smart experience.
-If installed on the same circuit as a dimmer switch, less than 100% setting causes a buzzing sound (the bulbs don't buzz if the dimmer switch is at 100% and you use the app to dim the light).

I'm tempted to buy this pack. As me anything in a reply.

No thanks for private policy:
Philips is now plans to force users to create accounts and log into those accounts in order to use their Hue products.

Definitely would not trust that "Tech Union" seller.

When I got into smart systems, I got a range of different manufacturers when they were on sale. After 7 years I am staying with hue and Lutron. Not once they needed any reboot or failed to work. All others I had to go back to the app and do something or the other to keep them working and after a few years of use you stop using multiple apps and want to stick to one that does the same thing. Though more expensive I am changing all lamps to hue, jumping on them when there is a sale. My only concern is the seller who seems to be selling refurbished as new according to some of the feedbacks.
