Same. My bill used to be $188 before I switched to their prepaid service. Now I'm only paying $40 for 4 lines of service. Even if I had Netflix or Hulu, I'd still be saving a lot more going a la carte per month than with these bundles.

Same issue with me. Store rep told me recently it'd be silly to change plans considering what it showed vs what if get. I know they want everyone to "upgrade" but maybe they change and allow older plans.
Is there a way to pay the difference and upgrade to ad free?

As for the loudness of the ads try setting your Roku/Amazon stick to stereo sound mode. The ads are usually stereo and mixed for tv speakers with compressed dynamic range. Then the shows and movies themselves have DD 5.1 sound made for theater speakers.
On my main system the stereo content I have the volume around -25db. The 5.1 content usually set closer to -10db. I noticed how the little previews in the Netflix app are as loud as the ads on Hulu. And then after starting the Netflix show immediately having to turn the volume up to get it as loud as the preview that was just playing.
It's not a solution if you have a nice home theater or even just a decent 2.1 setup like I have. But it's good information that I think more people should know. Especially anyone who sets up streaming devices for family and friends that won't care that they're not getting DD+ codecs but will appreciate the consistent volume level.
Roku has a Night Mode that I leave on in my bedroom where I have basic but pleasing sounding Creative v2 soundbar and it works great in that type of setup.
