It can be transformed into a 5.1 system by adding Samsung's SWA-9500S wireless rear speakers.

Is this $1000 MSRP a joke?

A quick deal search shows this regularly goes on sale for 300 and down to 279 before so this is 20 off.. Not sure how great of a deal it is

Just finished hooking everything up and listened to it for a bit. I think it sounds awesome for the price. I think I set my expectations too low to be honest.

I am big into DIY audio so I'm trying to avoid comparing this to some of my other stereo setups.
The highs on the sound bar aren't as tinny as some reviewers made it seem. The mids are a little underwhelming. The sub sounds pretty good and the rears are a must in my opinion. They pick up the slack in the midrange.

A few notes. The rears added themselves instantly. You might need to close the app and open it back up to see them in the settings. In device settings you will see channel level. I set the sound bar to 2 and the rears to 6. I might end up tweaking that but you could absolutely tell they were there.
Also, if you do a positional test on YouTube, the sub doesn't chime in. I'm guessing it plays from any of the 5 channels but it won't test independently.

It's a pretty great setup for less that what I paid for 2 horns for some DIY speakers 🤣
Did I mention the rears are a must?!
I just got mine. And I'd agree with this. Haven't really felt the backs fill in the missing mid. Might have tweaking to do.

I have both soundbars and i think q60b bar is more fuller, better mid. S800 is lack of mid but sub is better. I personally like q60b better.
I got mine today. Paired instantly with the Samsung rears. Cool effect with with them. But the mid is lacking. I don't think it sounds tiny, but there is a distinct lack of mid. Unfortunately the shipping form delayed and I had to return the q60b last night. I might have kept it ($110 instead of 270+100 for rear). If I could pair q60b with these rears I'd be super happy. I need a hack to make the mids pop more.

The point of this system is to be small/discrete. Does it accomplish its intended purpose?
It's small/discreet, but a lot of reviews rave about the sound quality without the "for its size" qualifier, and also a lot of us didn't realize the size difference when jumping on this deal. I'm just warning others that while it's good, it doesn't have that fullness of a bigger soundbar.

I got mine as well, and looking to tweak things. Right now, my settings are:

Standard:
Treble: -3
Bass: 0
Woofer: +3
Front Top Channel: +6
SpaceFit Sound: On

Honestly, I'm not sure if I prefer these settings or using the Adaptive preset. I'd love to hear what some of you other peoples' settings are as I'm not quite an audiophile.

Oh I just found the front top channel setting because to your comment, thanks! Hopefully this will help with atmos effects

After about a week of having these I have to keep on going into settings to select bluetooth and select the speakers to play the sound through. Same thing with the back speakers.
Once its connected it works until I turn off the tv then I have to reconnect manually when I turn on the tv.

Anyone know a work around to this? Unpair all together and repair?

I would have if I had it but I do not hence me having to use Bluetooth to connect. I have an older Samsung smart TV.

I have this and it sounds great. The only downside is if I don't turn the TV on for a day or so I have to go to my speaker setting on my TV and switch it to the hdmi. This is with a Samsung TV and also did it with an LG TV well. This is a known issue so be warned. It also goes on or off when you switch inputs.
Mine just stared doing this after about a week. My older Samsung soundbar very rarely did this. Any suggestions?

Might be a dumb question, but I got mine today and the box states S80CB. Does S80CB = S800B ??

Yes, the Costco version had the free teak bezel. It's what we all should have received

I mostly bought in on the big deal + small size for my modest little place. Also the fact that my old Vizio SB was acting up on my Sony OLED. However now I feel silly now since I discovered it wasn't the SB, it was the SONY that was the problem. Frown

Lack of optical in on this deal only made my situation worse. In other words now I have two soundbars that don't work over ARC. SO may return buydig but wondering what that would cost in return shipping, anyone??

You could always try a HDMI audio extractor. There are a few that support Atmos. You would likely need an apple tv or Chromecast device instead of using built in apps in the tv.
A little inconvenient but it's better than buying a new tv. Also, I know the feeling of wanting to jump on a deal but make sure you always do your research. Even if this had optical, it would hinder the Atmos functionality.

IMO, you should go with the extractor route. You'll probably spend $40-50 sending this back

Plenty of issues online with Sony Bravias arc. One "solution" that many say works is to power off, unplug, plug back in and power back on.

That's ridiculous, but it's worth a try. If that works for you, you could keep the TV on a smart plug and setup a macro/voice command for an easier way to power cycle it each time.

Just trying to help, have a great day

thanks, I can't do Atmos here with vaulted ceilings so mostly Dolby surround and a few xbox games and streaming news. I'll try that power cycle trick and already have a smart plug on my TCL 6 Roku, it need power cycle to turn on now with remote. -- the Sony was half price on Prime Day and now I learn that the Prime Chase card does NOT extend warranty like my other cards, including Chase Freedom. I think I'll chat them up about that, I had no idea, again I assumed too much. Again thanks, I'll try to rep you again later. Please

UPDATE, the power cycle on the SONY OLED was successful, the ARC is working on the SB now. Thanks for the help.
