Think M1Pro 16gb/512g was FP at $1300, so M3P 18/512 for $300 more seems like a solid deal.

These are the best OB prices I've ever seen on the M3 Pros. I'm shocked Apple is allowing them to drop this low—they usually try to keep their retailers at a floor of a 20% discount.

I picked up the 1TB version for $2k OB—excellent. They then dropped to 1930, then 1807 now. Fortunately, BB gave me a price match but it took some cajoling.

Either way, 1800 for the 1TB or 1600 for the M3 pro base is a good value. The battery life on this chip is a substantial improvement, even if the performance gains are mixed. I'm not disappointed with the purchase, coming from an M1 Pro.

Hmm don't see it for $1800, still $2K for me.

Makes one wonder what about a shiny, new MBP M3 Pro as a Christmas gift that someone would return one? Most people don't surprise gift someone who has no desire for a MacBook, with a MacBook! So most of those gifted one, wanted one!

That's about all the M3 Pro chip has going for it, but unfortunately, battery life really has been stellar on the M1 Pro and the M2 Pro. Apple crippled the performance of the M3 Pro for even more battery life, which is too bad. Apple thinks people are away from AC outlets for days at a time?

Yeah my 14" M1Pro 16GB/1TB I picked up for $1,200 from MicroCenter in December, is amazing battery! My laptop sits on my desk at home 99% of the time with occasional movement through house. Have ACs galore at my disposal. Gotta know your own personal use though too.

In my case, another $400 for half the storage and more life isn't worth it.

Dang you're right! Already gone. I just checked and saw the same. Keep watching for it, as these prices bounce around a lot on their website and just reserve one when it hits it again.

Nothing, that was a misinformed post as he did not realize this is the M3 PRO chip and not the base M3 chip.
M2 Pro can be faster in some cases due to better memory bandwidth, not sure if that's what @Hat-Trick was referring to

My post actually says exactly that, but for some reason, people aren't reading what I wrote, and that was that for those wanting a NEW MacBook, a NEW M2 Pro for cheaper might be a better choice. NEW vs open-box.

Great price due to open box discounting, but if you want new, I'd not think twice about getting a new (discounted) M2 Pro that actually has higher performance in many cases over the M3 Pro.

New M2 Pro 14" MBP are going for around $1600 and will only go lower like the M1 Pro's did.
Agreed. Apple really nerfed the M3 Pro performance to make the jump to M3 Max more substantial.

Yes. Because not only do you get the performance bump, but the Pro chip to power 2 external displays. That's worth $105 more. Plus 2 more gigs of RAM.
