How is this a thing? And why does it need 10 speed intervals when it only goes 0.5-1.8 MPH? Do you really need 0.1 mph increments when you're walking at less than half a normal speed?

Tempted to get this for my mom. She will likely be getting knee replacement surgery in the next year or so and I think this would help with her recovery but the warranty will likely expire before she ever uses it.

It's not meant to be a strenuous workout—nobody is buying these to lose weight. It's more meant to help improve joint mobility and circulation after surgery or for people who are at risk for, or already have medical conditions like DVT, or for people who work sedentary jobs like call centers where they're unable to leave their desks for hours at a time and can benefit mentally just from having that little bit of movement available to them.
