Overall, all-in-one units are amazing in their convenience and efficiency, but they introduce some new quirks that you do need to get used to. I personally don't think i can ever go back to any other type of unit.

I will venture to say both equally reliable, but why change the set up for those who have the plumbing etc for current set up?

This deal could not have shown up at a better time! Was literally going to buy a new washer and dryer today! Our 12 year old Whirlpool Cabrio washer is beyond its last leg.
If I use the non heat pump, all in one washer/dryer sold in Europe or Asia, it takes a long time to dry, and comes out pretty damp. I typically have to fill it around 60 percent full if I want the clothes to come out mostly dry.
Anyone tried this with the GE equivalent machine get better results?
sidenote: GE aplliances has really turned things around ever since they got bought out by Haier. I'm surprised Haier doesn't sell their own rebadged version. They still sell the non heat pump washer/dryer combo units only.
