I've had a unit like this for the past 12 years. The big positive, is being able to put a load in to wash and dry before leaving for work (or going to sleep) and having it done by the time I'm back. The negative - it takes 3-5 hours for a load to go through wash and dry. I dont recall this ever being an issue for me, as we dont typically have anything that needs to be washed and dried quickly - but thats something to keep in mind when considering this machine

Do you have a unit with an actual heat pump? Lg and other brands have sold other models that don't use heat pumps. They use a cooling plate powered by water which causes it to take much longer to dry. I have one of those units as well, and i agree its not for everyone cause if you need something dried fast or just cleaned fast its just not going to happen. But the heat pump based units are much faster (wash and dry in 2-3 hours). Slightly slower than a traditional drier . But pretty darn close in my opinion and no need to move the close saves you some time as well(unless you need to take things out of the drier to air dry). The other big change that takes people a bit to get used to that all ventless units have is that they build up humidity in the machine. When you open it up once the cloths is done the cloths will almost feel a bit moist. This is just cause the air in the chamber is a bit humid. But it does confuse people the first time around.

Overall, all-in-one units are amazing in their convenience and efficiency, but they introduce some new quirks that you do need to get used to. I personally don't think i can ever go back to any other type of unit.

I have been using the GE Profile all in one for the last couple of months and it takes about 2 hours for a full load. These newer models use heat pumps to generate hot air. Older models of all in ones used a different technology. Check and see what yours is. May explain why it takes so long.

Alright folks, we got our washer delivered and installed yesterday morning.
For folks wondering about their status updates, I had been informed that it would be delivered yesterday, but there was no status change on the website. I had to call LG the prior morning, and they made sure to deliver as scheduled.
We washed and dried 5 loads since yesterday under the Wash + Dry AI setting. All loads have taken between 2:45 and 3:00 hours to dry.
The two hour claim says it was run with a 10 lb load.
I didn't weigh our loads, but don't imagine that it was more than 10 lbs.
That being said, we are okay with it, and it fits our needs. With our old washer and dryer, we spent between 2:00 and 2:30 hours total to wash and dry. The convenience balances this out for us.
The clothes were well washed and dried, and the machine was easy to remove the lint, program, load soap, etc.
I'm sure it will require that we don't let the laundry pile up for weeks at a time, but that's a welcome adjustment for us.
We'll be keeping it, it works great. Just not as great as advertised.
Thanks for you feedback. Did your laundry have a odd/chemical odor after the first couple of uses? A review on best buy pointed out this problem.

This LG unit offers so many advantages for our family which includes a handicap and incontinent individual for which we frequently do laundry for. So far the advantages I see are:
1- Total wash and dry time will be less than done separately AND without the need to transfer. From a practical standpoint, how often do you immediately transfer from washer to dryer to get the total time under 3 hours? So even though some may find a 2.5-3.5hr total clean time cumbersome, I find this to be a blessing.
2- For us, this unit provides ample real estate (5.0 cu ft) for our laundry. We are currently working with a mini washer (1.7 cu ft) since our old washer (only 3.0 cu ft) conked out in spring 2022.
3- This LG unit has a self clean feature for the coils vs the GE Profile. This alone should prove to be an invaluable feature for long term durability.
4- These washer dryer combo units remove the problem many front load washers face with mold/mildew since the moisture is removed by the drying feature. (Although this LG unit does not have any advertised antimicrobial coating like the GE Profile unit).

Yes, it did have an almost burnt rubber smell, which I attribute to the machine heating up for the first time. By the third wash, it had gone away completely.

Like you, combining wash and dry time, plus the time to transfer, albeit short, makes a negligible difference in time for us. The savings on electricity, space, and all other perks outweigh that relatively easily.

We also appreciate the size as well. Supposedly its meant to handle a king size comforter, which is plenty for our family of four.

Finally, I'm really looking forward to not dealing with mold because of the dryer. Despite being religiously OCD about moisture in our old unit, it continued to develop mold.

Can anyone who has taken delivery of one of these already comment on how dry the gasket & inside tub are after a full wash/dry cycle? The manual mentions leaving door open to vent out/get rid of moisture as apposed to the GE which is always bone dry after wash/dry cycle and has no mention of needing to leave door open. If I am not mistaken the GE also has a fan that blows air into the gasket after and LG does not but have not been able to confirm this.

Mold prevention is probably my #1 reason to buy one of these new heat pump combo units.

Also on the detergent holder it looks like you can repurpose the softener to also be detergent if you prefer which is great as we do not use softener. Do you know if you can store 2 different types of detergent and select during wash cycle which one to use?

Lastly the manual says you need the machine to be 4" from the wall vs the GE says 0". As long as hoses are not being crushed, is there any technical reason this needs to be 4" from the wall?

Got mine delivered yesterday. I've done 3 loads so far. I'm impressed with the dry results. Took 2.5 hours for medium load. Basket loosely filled to the top. All towels and cotton sweats. The 2nd load was all thin clothing like tees and underwear. That one took a shy over 2 hours. Both using ai wash dry cycle.

Tub is warm/hotter side after all is done. Honestly even more hotter than I'd expected compared to my lg gas dryer. I suspect it's because there's no cool down while there's one for the gas lg.

Delivery was smooth but I went to level the legs this morning and noticed it was slightly off and lock nuts were not tight for both the pedestal and washer. I will try to post a review on YouTube or Reddit.

I say 4 is realistic from the rear perimeter edges because there's a mid hump casing that protrudes 1.5 inch behind the tub motor.

Are you thinking that LG doesn't include the hump in their specified depth of 33 1/8"?

They do, so just ignore this, you don't need more space than anything else, LG just kept their standard recs

3 hours max. The poster above was talking about his 12 year old washer/dryer, since then a lot of things have changed and improved.

Here is a great video that adds more details about this model: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AkDmyL988s

How much rear clearance would that be then from the wall? Like 2"? or 3"?

My laundry room has to be reworked a bit to fit the depth of the newer front load washers so i have to carve out space.

My mistake. 33 includes the hump. The "box" is 28 deep. Another consideration is the hose sticking out but you can change to the right angle ones

Solid machine. I think we have done 5 loads. Wash and dry, shortest was around 2:20, longest 2:45. Figure about 2 hours 30 minutes average. One load with towels felt like it could use a bit more drying but there is a special wash cycle designed for just that.
Overall we like the washer.

It's also bone dry, LG didn't customize the manual much.

And speaking of manual, the printed one that comes with washer has like 30 less pages than the one available on the LG website. The cycles are only listed in the online manual.
