Being a kids toy watch is exactly why a parent would ask if it is waterproof.
You're coming at this from the "it's cheap, of course it isn't waterproof" perspective. Many of us will be thinking "it's a kids electronic watch, of course it would be waterproof, right?"
It's actually not expensive, it's the actual testing for the IP rating that's expensive.
Oneplus used to get around that with waterproofing phones by not sending it for official ratings but still adding the extra adhesive.
Cost is minimal when not going for certification

Good price on this but PSA: we got the Minecraft one for our son and recently it started having issues consistently turning on or at least with the screen turning on. It maybe lasted a year before the issues popped up...granted he got it wet a few times but even then it was still working OK after we let it dry out. These obviously aren't waterproof
Fun toy for 6 and under I'd say. I've had the Sonic for a few years. Chargers via MicroUSB and doesn't do much. Camera and recording quality is that of an old FloppyDisk camera from the 90s
It's a kids toy watch. Not sure why you would even bring waterproof into question

I get your perspective, but waterproofing electronics is a pretty expensive/high price point feature, so that poster's angle (if a bit rude) was spot on. It's a reasonable question to ask as a parent… until you see the price.
Meh, not looking for an IP rating on them - some cheap rubber seals would be fine. At $18 original price that doesn't seem super out of reach for what this product is versus similar items in the category.

Comes with camera and voice recorder. I suppose I can put custom images in? Would be even nice if they can be hacked into a real smart watch though.
