You can try Micro Center open-box GPUs, if you have one nearby (https://www.microcenter

Either way, prices should go down by February 1, after Nvidia and AMD's January GPU releases. Good luck!

Old comment: Amazon seems to be matching Newegg's prices before the additional promo codes. So, Newegg ends up being cheaper.
And, before anyone chimes in about Newegg being all evil, Amazon is no saint. And Newegg has stepped up its returns policy and customer service since the last exposé by Gamers Nexus etc.

Newegg decided to turn it into a return with refund... and the price had gone up
Draw your own conclusion on what happened there
As long as they can make bank on AI, there's no reason to price consumer chips reasonably. They're just taking wafer space from their money printer.
nVidia fan bois are dumb and will buy anyway.

Timespy etc. are considered synthetic because nobody plays Timespy etc. Gamers will play actual games for fun, reason why reviewers might use synthetic benchmarks as a starting point but will draw conclusions and make recommendations based on actual game performance.

Tomb raider isn't bad either but it's not as popular and not free. The benchmark should be controlled. With the "gameplay" comparisons they're not exactly the same, they give a rough idea tho, but if you're over clocking or doing minor adjustments you won't be able to tell. You need controlled benchmarks for comparisons

Usually, reviewers have their own standardized ways of testing, so results are consistent across their own reviews. Some use games' built-in benchmarks, some use scripted gameplay scenarios as best they can (Fortnite has a fully rendered 3D game replay feature (https://dev.epicgames.c
