I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

People are reporting that their valid trade ins are getting rejected and my device has been sitting in the same USPS facility not moving for nearly a week. I am obviously concerned and do not want to get stuck with this device at full cost. I can do a charge back with my credit card I suppose but it might just be easier to return and be done with this nonsense.
Don't do a chargeback. You will be blacklisted from future deals and you will be making a bigger headache for yourself.

If your trade in gets rejected, contact them first. They will at least try to solve the problem for you.

I know, I meant if they refused to offer a solution and tried to get me to keep the device at full price then in theory I could do that as a last resort. I am simply trying to decide what to do if I am hitting the 14 day mark and my trade in has not been processed. Multiple people here are reporting issues with trade ins. I am not looking to gamble with such a large sum of money if the return window closes. I did my part and mailed the trade in very promptly. Also, from my experience, Spectrum customer service is a pain to deal with if anything deviates even slightly from their system automatic process. I have had them tell me one thing one day and then not honor it a different day, so I have little trust of them even if they tell me something in advance.

- Selected S24+ 256GB model for 999.99$
- Traded in Xiomi A1 old international phone* .. valuated to 7$
- $999.99 + 75$ (local sales tax) - $700 (Trade in Discount) -$7 +$20 (new line activation fee) = $387.99 is the total price charged to credit card.

Points noted:
*yes, it seems any brand phone is acceptable at stores. Since he couldn't select this company, he randomly chose some cheaper Samsung phone model name but entered this Xiaomi IMEI number.\
He collected trade-in the phone then there itself. When I asked a question if the brand mismatch would violate trade-in, he said not to worry as my $700 has already been redeemed.

He said locked (to any carrier) phone is not a problem.
Also it seems mostly, Stores will get only the base storage pieces ( S24-128GB S24+ - 256 GB etc.) in stock due to high online demand for higher memory pieces.

Hope this information is helpful.
Good to hear this…
Anyone else also tried the same?

Seems like the deal just isn't available in stores this year, at least not around my area. Still claiming no stock and only preorders are being sent. Weird they have the phones on display in the store and a sign on the window claiming "Its here.."
I guess Spectrum just didn't like how last years deal went.

Seeing comments about the Moto Play 2023 trade-in making me nervous. I just shipped mine yesterday.

I'm going to be devil's advocate, but lot of people don't follow simple trade in rules like factory resetting, getting rid of locks, including the paper receipt in the box, etc. Or just straight up taking risks like writing wrong IMEI number or choosing the wrong phone model. And judging by how half the people here ask questions that are already answered in the wiki and refuses to do any reading themselves, it doesn't surprise me to hear that some are getting their trade in rejected.

Not saying everyone is like that as there are some that are just plain unlucky, but I honestly wouldn't worry as long as you followed all directions and sent it in properly. Make sure to take pictures and videos of your package, keep the receipt with weight on it (in case it gets stolen you have proof) and you will be fine with any trade in.

TLDR; I wouldn't worry until it's actually time to be worried. Just be patient.

Stock is always low around my area. They only have couple of these promo phones every week before selling out and then have to wait for restock for another week.

My store notifies me through phone call once they get stock again.

Finally got one of my trade in credits.
As expected, they just skipped the whole process from delivered to assessment.
My tracking still shows delayed, arriving late. laugh out loud

I expect the other one to be accepted either tomorrow or Monday. That one also says delayed.

For those who did NOT trade in a locked phone, did you get trade credit yet?

100% agree with you. There's far too many people here that have very low reading comprehension.
99% of the issues could be prevented by following along in the story book

When was the last phone deal?

Worst case scenario is you get stuck with a full price phone, and have to trade it in during the next phone trade promo IN STORE

I noticed on my spectrum mobile account, because my phones were paid in full, it shows the line is eligible for upgrade. Does this mean I could use the same phone line (without opening another line) and get another S24 phone trade in if my in-store trade in is considered complete or should I wait 60 days to unlock first?

Pixel 8 Pro. Got a S24+ for free.

I traded in one Moto G Pure. It's locked to Tracfone and I'm waiting for credit on that one.

I got credit for Moto phones from previous deals though. Sending Moto phones does not automatically means it's going to get rejected or something.

There's like a new deal every couple months since every new phone that gets released usually have some kind of promotion at Spectrum. Only iPhones don't get much great deals but that's Apple for you.

Even if you pay the full price, you can definitely use that same phone and get a good trade in offer next time.

I recently received an email stating my Walmart Moto G Play trade-in was declined due to anti-theft concerns. I've checked the phone was factory reset, and I have a video documenting the packaging and reset process if that's helpful. Is there any way to appeal this decision?
Did you buy this phone from Walmart.com or buy it in store?
