It states: " How do I get my trade-in payment?
After your device is processed, you'll receive a credit for the assessed value. If you've paid for your new device in full, the trade-in credit will be refunded to your credit card within two billing cycles. Otherwise, a monthly credit will be applied to your Device Payment Plan in equal parts over the duration of the plan, starting within two billing cycles.
Additional details will be provided in your trade-in email from Assurant."
If your device is paid in full it is supposed to go back to your credit card. I have done 4 of these and on all 4 they credited my Spectrum account, however each time a very short phone call with CS resulted in the credit going to my CC.
If you need a $40 trade-in phone for this deal:

If above phone not available, here is a $50 phone for trade-in deal:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Tracfo.../456429801
WARNING
Make sure to turn it on and see if your phone can activate. Walmart is not properly scanning these phones and trade ins are getting denied because of anti-theft. Buy these phones in store if you can! try to activate online and if error take the whole phone box package to store and have them rescan and reissue back to you or get replacement. check to make sure IMEI of "new" device can be activated online before you leave store
if above can't fix your problem then do the following:
1. Reach out to straight talk CS and ask them to escalate with issuing ticket
2. They will tell you to do the following: Email pop@tracfone.com with name, contact number, ticket number (this is created by chat agent) and attach receipt proof and picture of IMEI (I took a picture of the card that has the IMEI and sim card number on it).
3. You should get email about 24-48 hours later that it can now be activated
4. If they ask you to activate with phone plan then buy this $15 plan and give them the PIN and other relevant information they ask for
https://www.target.com/p/tracfone...A-87908383
Takes roughly 15 minutes to come in after purchase to hit email.
5. If they didn't ask to activate on tracfone then visit https://www.straighttal
6. Insert sim if not already in, turn off phone and turn back on. Make a test call. If call won't go through wait 5 minutes. You'll probably get some texts from Tracfone and calling should work. They suggest to turn off and on again if not, but I didn't need to.
$25 at Amazon: (slow shipping)

Store trade-in is YMMV
- Most stores will uphold the promotion - if not, go to a different store
- Device usually needs to be in stock - some stores will ship if not in stock
- Stock is usually low and sells out fast - may need to try more than once
- Higher storage options are usually not available in stores - only online
- Tax is dependent on state - some charge MSRP, some charge discounted price
- Doing too many trade in in short amount of time might get your account flagged - only online is available then

"Thanks for shipping your device for your Trade-In. As soon as we receive it, we'll send you an email. As a reminder, since your device has shipped, you can no longer cancel your trade-in."
Also they never said it would take 30 days to process trade ins, Assurant says in their e-mail that we only have 30 days to get them the trade in. Their side says they should process the trade in typically within 1-2 business days. So they are just straight up lying.
1) Contact Spectrum Support (chat or phone) to escalate the issue with the shipping delay and they will provide you a ticket # for reference.
2) Spectrum escalation team will reach out to you in 1-2 business day to review the issue you're having with your trade-in and they will work with Assurant to get an update/resolution.
3) Per Spectrum escalation team response, these unexpected shipping delay are not the fault of the customer, and they will process returns even if outside of the standard 14 days window from order shipment.
For those of you who are in the same boat, at least we know the standard 14 days return can be extended due to these unexpected shipping delay/trade-in delay not fault of the customer.
****Don't do the trade in online you will probably lose your old phone and/or pay in full.*****

Did you purchase online? When you initiated the return did they say they were cancelling the trade in at the same time and would return the trade in?

If you're getting close to your 14 day window closing, you really have a tough choice to make. Either you return the phone and lose a good deal, or you risk ending up paying full price for the phone (a really really bad deal). I would probably errr on the side of "return the phone, wait for the next deal", but everyone has to decide what is best for their situation. And if you opted to trade in a decent phone (with some actual value), it's even tougher because you won't get your traded in phone back if you return the S24. So it's risky either way.
I guess the big lesson here is never to do a trade-in deal where you don't have a chance to opt out AFTER you've gotten confirmation of the value they are offering for your trade-in phone, or you risk getting majorly ripped off.

I personally have suspicion that Spectrum is getting a lot of calls/complaints regarding this, much more than just the small sample of people here represents, and so hopefully will have a standardized solution communicated to customer service for massive delays USPS/Assurant has caused.
To me, $700 just seems like a very big amount to gamble on, but hopefully it all works out for everyone!

If you find any trouble then file a complaint to your State Attorney General's office, Also file complain to FTC and FCC, and for USPS file complain to post master General. More complain this company will act fast to correct the issue.
