I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

Mine hasn't been approved. I sent it in on 1/20. It showed "delivered" on 2/1. So far, no updates. After I sent out the package, I only got one email from spectrum:

"Thanks for shipping your device for your Trade-In. As soon as we receive it, we'll send you an email. As a reminder, since your device has shipped, you can no longer cancel your trade-in."
I wonder what recourse there is for all of us who mailed in our devices weeks ago and are not seeing any updates while people who just mailed it out a few days ago are reporting already getting their devices processed. I'm at the end of my 14 day return window so I either need to initiate a return or plan to potentially do a charge back on my credit card if they do not honor the trade in. I really do not want to have to resort to a charge back but not sure what else we can do since they are not processing trade ins correctly. At least yours is showing as delivered, mine is not even doing that.

Thanks for the update, I would definitely get a supervisor on site since other were able to do that (you can probably prove with pictures if you have). Your next best thing is to contact Straight Talk and get a ticket # and email them your proof of purchase. Hopefully they can clear the phone before Assurant assess it. Else prepare to return phone. All the best.
I just initiated this process with straight talk. They provided the ticket number and the email address and I sent them all the pictures and screenshots. Hopefully they can process this before this phone gets delivered to assurant. I could try to go to a different Walmart and see if they will do a return and re-ring on the phone without opening the box.

Same situation. What is concerning is that it is not like we have a stream of people reporting their devices are being processed, even people who have been waiting weeks are saying their devices are still unprocessed, in fact not even been marked as delivered. This is not a delay this is a fiasco and they are just expecting us to sit here without our credit as the return period lapses. I am basically at the last day myself to make the decision about initiating a return.

Also they never said it would take 30 days to process trade ins, Assurant says in their e-mail that we only have 30 days to get them the trade in. Their side says they should process the trade in typically within 1-2 business days. So they are just straight up lying.
I'm basically in the same boat, my trade-in has been sitting in the Coppell Distribution center since 1/26 (still showing in transit both in USPS and in the Spectrum trade-in tracking page). Here is the list of step I've taken to escalate my issue with Spectrum. I'm still waiting to hear back on what their resolution will be.

1) Contact Spectrum Support (chat or phone) to escalate the issue with the shipping delay and they will provide you a ticket # for reference.
2) Spectrum escalation team will reach out to you in 1-2 business day to review the issue you're having with your trade-in and they will work with Assurant to get an update/resolution.
3) Per Spectrum escalation team response, these unexpected shipping delay are not the fault of the customer, and they will process returns even if outside of the standard 14 days window from order shipment.

For those of you who are in the same boat, at least we know the standard 14 days return can be extended due to these unexpected shipping delay/trade-in delay not fault of the customer.

Unfortunately I returned the new phone, it's a scam process run by Assurant, they received the device 10 days ago and it has not been processed since that date.
****Don't do the trade in online you will probably lose your old phone and/or pay in full.*****

Thank you, that is useful information as I am probably headed down the same path very soon. I am going to see if I can activate the new phone without opening the package because I have been holding off on opening it until Assurant processed my trade in. The main things is to keep very good documentation with Spectrum ,they are extremely untrustworthy. I have had customer service tell me things but then next call they pretend like they have no documentation of it and have no clue what the previous person was talking about.

I had a smooth process last time I did a trade in with Assurant. Never again after this experience. Unacceptable to me that USPS would not properly process and scan packages that they are handing off to Assurant so that USPS, Assurant, and Spectrum all then claim they have no clue where the package is and to just wait. At least yours is showing as received.

Did you purchase online? When you initiated the return did they say they were cancelling the trade in at the same time and would return the trade in?

Can you do the trade-in in the store? I've never seen one around here do that, but maybe it's a store by store policy. I thought they only did them in the mail.

As far as the 14 day window being extended, it might be possible, but I wouldn't count on it. You have basically no leverage if they simply refuse to do it and just say "read the agreement, it states you have 14 days" and go from there.

If you're getting close to your 14 day window closing, you really have a tough choice to make. Either you return the phone and lose a good deal, or you risk ending up paying full price for the phone (a really really bad deal). I would probably errr on the side of "return the phone, wait for the next deal", but everyone has to decide what is best for their situation. And if you opted to trade in a decent phone (with some actual value), it's even tougher because you won't get your traded in phone back if you return the S24. So it's risky either way.

I guess the big lesson here is never to do a trade-in deal where you don't have a chance to opt out AFTER you've gotten confirmation of the value they are offering for your trade-in phone, or you risk getting majorly ripped off.

The leverage that a person has (aside from consumer protection agencies and small claims court) is doing a charge back. Obviously most people do not want to do a charge back but it is a potential last resort if the company engaged in lies/deceptive business practices and are not honoring a deal/statement made to a customer. If we are talking about a few dollars that is one thing and most people would eat it, but this is $700+.

I personally have suspicion that Spectrum is getting a lot of calls/complaints regarding this, much more than just the small sample of people here represents, and so hopefully will have a standardized solution communicated to customer service for massive delays USPS/Assurant has caused.

Yep, I agree with you 100%, but doing a chargeback on something like this is also very hit or miss. The CC company can just say 'you agreed to the terms' and not do the charge back after Spectrum "verifies" the purchase. I've seen that happen before. On the other hand they can just do the chargeback and you get your money back, but you're still going to be out the phone you traded in.

To me, $700 just seems like a very big amount to gamble on, but hopefully it all works out for everyone!

Well there is also risk with returning the phone, namely that you could still lose your trade in and you have to pay return/restocking fee. What if you have the same issue with the return as they are having with Assurant? It is not like that is risk free either if we are talking about hypotheticals.

If you find any trouble then file a complaint to your State Attorney General's office, Also file complain to FTC and FCC, and for USPS file complain to post master General. More complain this company will act fast to correct the issue.
