Well technically I think it depends if they are considering it an account credit or discount on purchase, but on the receipt it appears to be a discount on the purchase (i.e. similar to how it is processed in store) even though they call it a credit.
It clearly says trade-in a million times. There's no other interpretation

The question is not whether it is a trade in, but whether they are giving you a discount or credit. My opinion is they are calling it a credit but processing it as a discount if they are refunding taxes.

After emailing [email protected], I received email after 72 hours that my phone status is new & ready for activation. Now when I am checking on straight talk activation link, I am not getting error that IMEI (device) not eligible. I am able to see below page: is my moto g is good for trade in now? is there any action needed from my side, my moto g phone already in the warehouse for assessment.

Assurant trade in screen was showing:
"Delivered
Your device was received at our warehouse on 02/01/2024. It should be assessed by 02/03/2024."

Logged into my Spectrum account and it was showing my credit balance for the phone trade-in.
I talked to customer support and got it refunded to my credit card on file.

THANKS SPECTRUM!

Where do you see the credit balance? Under Manage Phone? No luck for me yet.

That is the only reason that I did not go ahead and initiate a return. Today would have been day 14 for me and fortunately the credit hit today. If it had not I would be stuck in a tough spot like you, I did not want to get stuck with this device if the trade in was rejected and they would not honor the $700 promotion. I was going to call them today and ask if I could mail in a second device if the first one was stuck in transit somewhere.
I couldn't wait longer because they took long time, I shipped the phone 1/18 and got the update 2/6. I expected few days to process it not +3 weeks.

I shipped the phone on 01/22 and they received it on 01/26 and they said it should be assessed by 01/28, but is still pending. It looks like there is a backlog and many of us won't know until after the 14-day return deadline, which for me is in two days.

Traded in a Walmart G play 2023 purchased online, pick up instore. IMEI was not scanned and unable to activate. Phone was in transit, went to Walmart with BOX to return rebuy, they refused without phone. Faxed and email Straight on Sunday still no response. As of now I am unable to activate. Check Spectrum trade in link and .....Assessment passed inspection 711.00 is confirmed.
This is the best news I've heard all day. I'm going back and forth with Straight Talk trying to get my phone activated. The only thing I have going for me is that my package is "delayed" along with everyone else.

It sounds like a few people with similar submission dates saw that their accounts were credited without notification, so if you have not checked your accounts (under Billing/mobile) you might want to make sure it has not been credited.

I think I will have the same issue too as my send by date is 2/21 and I haven't sent the trade-in phone yet. Let me know how it goes I will too.
USPS was able to scan in my 2 trade-ins today and Spectrum system detected they were shipped. Spectrum even called me back to follow up my ticket that I opened yesterday, so they seems to be very helpful.

I shipped it today and thankfully I didn't have any trouble with the label.
